I hope nobody stays in this hotel, because the manager here tries to sell you very expensive trips to halong bay and sapa. I hope really nobody books anything here because you willl see you will pay far too much if you book it here. Also is this place worse to stay.

Warning!! Never ever stay (or let people transport you) to this hotel!! We booked 3 nights in a different hotel, that we never saw. A taxi driver took us from the airport to our hotel (a least that's what we thought) where a Vietnamese guy called Duy got in our car and told us that the hotel we booked was... More

I was re-routed here by the Minh Tan Hotel, as my reservation there was not honored. It was getting dark, and I was tired, so I reluctantly accepted their offer. When I asked where the hotel was, I was told "Not much further." A taxi with a Lucky Eden "associate" drove me away from the Minh Tan Hotel. When I... More

We were shunted to the Lucky Eden when the "associate hotel", the Asia House was full despite the fact we had booked several weeks in advance. The Lucky Eden is a dive outside the tourist area (you need a taxi to get anywhere interesting). We took a taxi into town, having pointed out that the air-con in our room wasn't... More

When booking a flight from Hue to Hanoi, the travel agent told us he could organise a hotel for us as this one had a free airport pickup. So we went with this hotel. The "free" pickup just meant that someone from the hotel would come and meet us for free. We had to pay for the taxi back into... More

This place really is the biggest dump in Hanoi. Despite the friendly staff, the place was very dirty, the bedding was not clean and the smell was terrible. Unfortunately we arrived late at night and were unable to find any other available accommodation. We have the whole of SE Asia, including the length of Vietnam and this truely was the... More

My family spent 3 nights at this hotel in early March (2007). We chose it principally for it's location (close-ish to the Old Quarter) and price. Overall, the service was friendly and the rooms adequate, although the lack of a lift would prevent us staying there again with young children and prams. Watch also that the owners' don't try to... DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS HOTEL!! The Funky Monkey, Lucky Eden, and various others located at 35 Quan Thanh in Hanoi are one and the same place. Despite what it says on Expedia, they do NOT have a swimming pool, business center, elevator, or free airport pick up. They do have a kareoke bar right next door which plays until... More

This was all we could book with late notice for a late night arrival in the city. Main problems were: 1. Pushy staff who were clearly only making money on selling tours as they never missed an opportunity to try and sit us down and book us something. 2. All rooms open on the central hallway so noise from staff... More

My aunt was referring me to this hotel. Overall, this hotel a bargain comparing with others that I attempted to book. We were staying in room 102 (second floor facing the street). The only drawback to this room is that at 5:30 AM, the street noise will wake you up. We encountered the electrical outage during the first night but... More
