The moment I stepped into the lobby, when the staff (the owner) was there and said, "Haslina from Malaysia" ... I already know I will have a great time staying in Hanoi Hostel 1 Hang Ma street! I stayed here 3 nights in a female dorm. 4 double decker beds, each bed had a large locker, individual light, clean bathroom,... More

I would definitely stay here again. - The staff are very friendly and helpful. - The dorm rooms were cheap and each bed had a large locker and individual lights, shelf and power sockets. - Basic breakfast included - happy hour from 6-7 with free beer - Free wifi throughout On the downside the bathroom could have been cleaner. It's... More

Stayed here (Hanoi Hostel 2) for for 6 nights in April - where we had to return to Denmark due to a health issue. Therefore the stay was a bit longer than anticipated. One of the staff (Phoebe) was extraordinary helpful. We had booked tickets to Sa Pa where we had to leave at 6 pm. At 5.10 pm we... More

Staying at Hanoi Hostel was really great! The staff was helpful, nice, they spent time for us, helping us in our choices, what to do in Hanoi etc. One also speaks french :) The hostel is clean, fan, A/C, free breakfast and happy hour beers at night during 1 hour, there is a rooftop and it's in a great location!... We stayed as a large group at the sister hostel on Hang Vai. Candy was fantastic and very helpful in all matters concerning our time in Hanoi. She booked our transfers at an excellent price from Hanoi airport to the hostel. The accommodation itself is what we expected for the price and location. The breakfast is simple but adequate and... I stayed at the Hang Vai property (Hanoi Hostel 2). Private room (1 double and a single bed), ensuite bathroom, flatscreen tv, mini fridge, a/c. Up on the 3rd floor with a couple of windows looking towards the street. Wifi worked in the room, plus there were 3 computers on the ground floor that worked well. Breakfast included - omelette,... I stayed at Hanoi Hostel for two nights, arriving on 26 March and checking out on 28 March. All of the staff were incredibly friendly. The manager of Hanoi Hostel spent a lot of time chatting to me about my route through Vietnam and helping me to plan it. The hostel also arranged a brilliant Halong Bay trip (3 days,... More

We stayed in a double room for $18 a night, includes a large comfy, double bed also a single bed (as with most Vietnamese double rooms - so sharing with 3 people is feasible) aircon, fridge, tv, ensuite bathroom, towels, free tea and coffee in the ownstairs part and a decent breakfast - omlette, bread (access to a toaster) amazing... Let's start with the good: Very good price ($4.50 per night), clean beds, hot showers, great breakfast, free tea and coffee all day. The Bad: I was not told about the free breakfast until the 3rd day there when I was told by someone in my dorm. The cleaning lady cleaned the wrong bed and took some of my things... More

I stayed 3 nights at the hostel in Hang Vai, in one of the dorms. Very good location, kind and helpful staff, good bed (dorms have 8 beds, fans and AC) and bathroom ok (sink would have needed a good cleaning and fixing and shower not really hot). Good with free breakfast (eggs, toast, jam, coffee/tea) and met some very... More
