Scandinavia Hotel don't exist anymore! Nowadays it's name is Scan Hotel but the web site still profit the old name, however the email don't work (the address is unknown). In a 5 weeks trip in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia this it was the most expensive and worst hotel where we stayed. The booking it was no correct, the all building... more

Stayed here several nights as other hotels were full. Nice enough room, location and pool and manager/owner tries to be friendly but there is so much more that c/should be done to justify >$US50 per day. Pavilion much better. Contrary to guide books (incl local one), there is no restaurant at 'the scan." Understaffed and disorganised. Stumbled across the bar... more

We arrived in PP without a hotel booking so had the luxury of shopping around to find a hotel. We checked out Scandinavia and on first impressions it looked great - charming hotel, swimming pool, great location and clean, modern rooms. The hotel is owned by an American apparently but the receptionist speaks very little English and is just hopeless.... more

We stayed 5 nights. Globally we enjoyed it, but it feels like this could be a much better place. Positive: Great location. Nice setting in a beautiful old house, renovated and refurbished with good taste. Nice little pool. Nice staff who is trying but is not very well trained. (the giggling staff mentionned in other reviews doesn't seem to be... more

Just spent 2 nights at the hotel and found it to be a very comfortable and relaxing hotel to stay in. Eric and Toni couldn't do enough to make my stay pleasant, including the use of a laptop to acces my email. Eric makes great french bread so would encourage it to order this for breakfast. having the pool is... more

Hotel appears to be an old house, roughly refurbished. Good location but from that high point its all downhill. Reception is a small shed with a few giggling girls who dont seem to know how to do anything much beyond asking for payment at the time of check-in. This makes sense as we would have checked out after day 1.... more

This was our 3rd visit to the Scandic (now known as the Scandinavian or locally as the Scan) over the last 7 years and it was obvious that despite very friendly and helpful owners and some staff who tried very hard to deliver , that the Scandic is not what it once was. Positives: The owners are helpful and friendly.... more

Most people I would have thought will end up here because it is listed in the Lonely Planet but don't let this make you blind to forming your own opinion about this place. I liked the location - it is situated just a short stroll from its own little entertainment hub away from the more blatant quayside area which has... more

Of all the hotels we have stayed in asia, this was the worst, reception was a workmans hut welcombed by giggling maniac receptionist. unhelpfull not interested at all. Who proceded to take the cash for our family room, and later deny all knowledge of said payment! having not taken a receipt staff decided to pocket the cash, not knowing we... more

I booked this by e-mail. I don't know of any way to book and pay for this over the internet. Upon arrival they had not transcribed my booking to their reception paperwork, but my room was still available. I had the basic standard room (ie the cheapest) and it cost a total of $87.24 for two nights (yes their website... more
