The rooms were clean, facilities mostly ok (the shower drain was a little clogged up) and the location fantastic! While the service at reception wasn't the best, it wasn't too bad, the person at reception appeared a little dismissive but responded to important requests. Overall, for the location and the room (at a good price) I would recommend this hotel.

We had 3 rooms at the Alp for a week during May, it was a great experience. The rooms and bathrooms are small but really clean. Depending on the temperature you can use the A/Cs or just use the fan portion to make the room comfortable. The breakfast on the roof has a wonderful view and the staff is very... More

I was at Alp Hotel on May 2013 with my husband and two babies, 2 years old and 7 months old. We booked a family room which was large enough to have 4 beds and two baby cots! The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was really supportive with us and the babies and provided us all the... More

We stayed in one of the family rooms at the Hotel Alp. The room was beautiful, and perfect for us. The hotel is on a pedestrian street, so we could sit out on the street without worrying about cars. There's a playground a few blocks aways (down the stairs toward Express Laundry, then continue down the street to the bend).... More

A small hotel perfectly located in Sultanhamet, minutes walk away from everything you could possibly want to see (or public transport to the rest). The street its on is a bit of a tourist "ghetto" with similarly priced (expensive, IMHO) and similar food type restaurants and souvenir stands and other small hotels, but this is probably because of its perfect... A friendly well run small hotel where we stayed for a total of six nights on two occasions. Located in the heart of the tourist area it was close to the main attractions. The hotel staff were extremely kind in locating a bag my wife left on an airport transfer. Breakfast on the roof terrace provides excellent views over the... More

For a great location at a decent price, The Alp Guesthouse is a good choice. The Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia are just a few blocks away. The Grand Bazaar is a 15 minute walk and a 25 minute walk to the ferries at the Galata Bridge as well as the nearby spice market. We never had need to hire... More

I have stayed in several places in Istanbul, and no doubt Alp Guesthouse is the best. They are small and easily fill up, so book early. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spotless, though bring your own toiletries as only soap bars were provided. The decor suits the building and the area. Breakfast is served on the... More

Alp Guesthouse and it's staff are another good example of Turkish Hospitality. As a traveller, my top 2 priorities are: customer service and cleanliness. The Alp Guesthouse met these expectations with ease, therefore I am giving them an excellent rating. From my first contact via e-mail, through our departure, the staff were helpful, kind and accommodating. Even when we added... More

I get the impression that this hotel was definitely above average for Istanbul guest house standards, but I'm not sure it warrants a "very good" review. It was squarely good. The rooms were on the small side, and the walls fairly porous to sound. Thus because our room was immediately off the stairs, the sounds of people going up and... More
