Will remember it for all the ratings given below but above all it was the kindness of the staff, an old fashioned attentiveness to the customer...they made you feel special and this was right across the staff, no exception (there usually is one!). Since the rooms have been refurbished it has been transformed. Clean comfortable beds but rooms a bit small (as you might expect in a capital city). A great buffet breakfast in the restaurant. Wifi is non-existent at the top of the hotel (but it is great by the reception desk!).

Nothing ever changes at the good old Mayflower but the internet connection - free wifi now also receivable in the rooms and not only in the lobby or if you are lucky - and the necessary soft renovation. With G. Green and/or journalists/reporters staying here during the civil war and which makes a breath of history this hotel is what you need in such a city as Beirut. Nonetheless, it offers a very good location (Hamra district) close to AUB, Corniche and not so far from Downtown and good breakfast for reasonable price (for Beirut).
