My husband and I stayed at this hotel in abril, 2010, and we were very well treated by it's owner. The rooms were decorated in Syrian style, and were very clean. The location is excelent, in the midle of old town, but in a very quiet street. At breakfast we had delicious and varied Arabian food. The courtyard offered a... More

This converted old house is comfortable, clean, well run and well sited for seeing most of Damascus. Syrian style breakfasts are good. The service and advice are excellent. Trips by car can be arranged with good drivers and guides. The rooms are very comfortable but one (2) has an internal staircase to the bathroom which a few might find difficult.... More

This is an interesting old Damascus house which has been recently renovated to modern standards but re-living the lifestyle of an Arab family home. From the roof above, you get spectacular views by day and night. It is in a perfect location to explore old Damascus on foot. All the staff, day and night, were friendly, helpful and answered all... No I think for everything said it is a home from home for a weary traveller, an expectant tourist, a seasoned visitor !. The hotel... More

This July my wife, our son (23 years old) and me should go to Damascus to take our Visa from Canadian Embassy.Due to some problem regarding airline tickets,we had to stay 10 days there. Honestly from what we have heard in media,we though we would have a hard time staying for 10 days in Damascus. But all we have heard appeared... More

I stayed at this Beit with a sister. It was one reason why we absolutely adored Damascus. Beit Rose is: charming, comfortable, unusual, ideally located, and staff are extremely refined. I cannot recommend it more highly -- and only regret it will be a while before I stay there again.

We enjoyed staying at Beit Rose hotel. It offered very intimate and quiet atmosphere. It is a charming Damascene house with fine architectural details. Also, the hotel staff were very helpful and caring giving us tourism advices and providing lots of facilities.

Excellent location, friendly staff but beware of room no. 5. It really is a terrible room. The location is fine, all sights are easily accessed from there. The rooftop is nice, but was under construction.

We stayed here for 5 nights during the eid holidays in November 2010. The hotel is small but charming with all you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay in Old Damascus. It is as it says an old Damascene house, situated round a courtyard, so dont expect space and luxury of a modern hotel. Staff are very pleasant and... More

We booked into this hotel at the last minute after leaving the terrible hotel we were booked into by our tour organiser. We had the suite and it was delightful. The view from the roof is fantastic.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Beit Rose is a traditional Damascusine house of the eighteenth century that has been restored recently over a two year period with a delicate attention to preserve its authentic style; however very fine details were changed in an attempt to add a unique charm. The house is located in the heart of old Damascus, just few steps away from the Mostakem street (straight street) that dates back to the Romanian era. Therefore it's the ideal gateway for exploring the history, browsing surrounding area of interest and enjoying the sensational experience of the Syrian cuisine in the abundant nearby restaurants; many quiet bars are offering a chilling environment nearby. Each room is provided with air condition, heater, a small fridge, TV, international phone line and also wireless internet. Our breakfast is a combination between a continental and traditional Famascusine one and it's served for all our guests free of charge. We provide meals from our kitchen (is located out of the hotel). We do have a breezy specialized cocktail menu (served all day long). The Beit Rose's friendly staff go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable experience. ... more   less
