I stayed at Casa Platypus for three nights and it felt calm, comfortable and safe. The owner was a fantastic man that knew everything that you need to know, as well as being a good laugh. The breakfast was fab and the location is perfect for bars, restaurants and museums. The hotel is colonial and as such a photographer's dream.... more

I found my stay here to be very pleasant. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Showers worked well. It was close to everything in downtown Bogota. I would stay there again. more

Casa Platypus is a very nice colonial house, with personality! You feel like you have gone back in time, for the most part, since there are nice modern features. The price for a single room was 100.000 CPesos. I would have expected more for 30€, but am not yet familiar with the Colombian hostel scene. Please, please, please do not even consider staying here. We stayed for 3 nights and on our 3rd night I went down to pay. It was 10.30pm and my friend was in bed.
