The room and in the inside are nicely decorated and VERY CLEAN. And you feel safe, knowing you are surrounded by a pretty bad neighborhood It does not have the trashy backpacker style of some places... It is more business like The bedding is a little bit cheap...but ok Some doors showed they were forced the entry and one of... More

This was my first stop in Bogota and I felt very safe. The rooms, bathrooms and common areas were very clean and comfy. I reserved a private room that listed a double bed in the photos and description so I was surprised that I was placed in a room with bunk beds. However, I had the whole room to myself... More

Very clean, pleasant place. Staff was extraordinarily helpful. Location good, not far from historic sites. There's a good vibe with the guests, but it isn't like a backpackers' dorm. Street feels desolate at night, but I had no bad experiences.

I stayed here for just over a month in June/July 2012 while I studied Spanish at a nearby school. I absolutely loved it! It's clean, comfortable, safe and provides really friendly service. It's not a party hostel, in fact I'm not sure I'd call it a hostel at all as there are only private rooms, no dorm rooms. But if... More

Descent hostel im Candelaria district. Beds were clean. It is easy though to miss that place since the sign is not visible enough.

Based on what we saw in the other hostels in the area, it is a cleaner and nicer one but a bit more expensive - we paid 80,000 pesos ($40) for two of us in a room with private bathroom while most others cost about 55,000 pesos ($27.50) for doubles with a private bathroom. The room was very nice and... More

OK, it's cheap, but seriously this is not in a good area. In fact it's that bad that a lot of taxis refused to take us there at night, and once you're back there, you're stuck. Bogota is generally a fairly safe place but not around la Candelaria. As for the hostal, their command of English is fairly non-existent, so... More

We stayed at the Hostal de la Candelaria for 4 nights in August 2009. Overall, the place is a good value for the money, but there are some things that are less than stellar. Firstly, the hostel is very clean and pretty, the private rooms are spacious and have cable tv. On our first three nights we stayed in a... More

This is a really nice hostel in a great location. The staff are really friendly and the hostal is clean and everything is new. There's some really nice courtyards aswell to hangout in and the use of a kitchen. They now have private rooms aswell as the apartments which have private bathrooms and a tv so its good value. Its... Hostal La Candelaria is one of the best hostels that I have ever stayed in. The owners are really nice. They went above and beyond to make my stay in Bogota great. The hostel is brand new and very clean. Each room is a two-story apartment that sleeps four people. The location is fantastic in the heart of the La... More
