I travel to Solomon Islands on a regular basis, so have checked out quite a few of the accommodation options. Raintree Cafe is pretty good, and I eat there regularly. I had always been curious about the accommodation, so I booked there on one particular trip. I stayed in the room with the kitchen and found it dank, dark and... More

The hotel is neither the palace that one Swiss guy wrote here nor the dump as one American did. First: Accommodation in Honiara is expensive, I had a short look at the Casino Hotel when I arrived and a smoky single room there was a 160 (!) USD, Honiara is full with Asian business men and Australian servants and there... More

Most things have already been said, lovely views, nice restaurant with good coffee, food relatively tasty, location a little out of the way. When we were there we had water and electricity - sometimes, and then one or the other would stop, not I suspect due to the hotel but what was happening around it. I think for the price... More

Raintree is really a mixed bag. As a cafe, it's pretty easy to recommend. Everything that I had to eat there for breakfast and lunch was very tasty and good quality. However, as a place to stay, it has some serious drawbacks. I chose to stay there based on the very positive recommendation in Lonely Planet, but I think its... More

A Unique Experience in Honiara - Great location, you cannot get much closer to the ocean than Rain Tree - The service can be a little slow, be prepared to wait, this is not a fast food resaurant. The Pizza is an experience in itself - AWESOME the coffee great and usually a Cold Beer in the refrigerator. Not too many... More

I stayed here for 3 weeks in March 2012 and enjoyed it. It is a unique "B&B" and some aspects are rustic and others are lovely. You should read the other reviews as they are generally accurate. I found all of the staff to be very helpful and gracious. The food is excellent from breakfast to dinner. Everything was first... More

This place was great. Arrived in afternoon and had to give the Bilikiki driver directions to get there. Met and greeted by very pleasant staff. This isn't a "down town" hotel but an out of town hotel so might be inconvenient for shoppers. Room was perfect and even without air con , it was cool and comfortable ...no insect problems.... More

If you like somewhere out of the way- you have got it. If you want incredible pizzas- you got it. If you like somewhere small and somewhat friendly- you got it. We have stayed for 4 nights and only had running water for one decent shower each- the rest of the time we have been provided with a bucket of... More
