I stayed at the Kaiviti Hotel for 12 nights during a diving holiday with friends. My friends and I stayed in the budget air conditioned rooms. The furnishing in the rooms was basic - but provided everything needed and was excellent value for the price. My 3 basic requirements were exceeded: working air conditioning, plenty of hot water & good... More

Be prepared to be kept awake by drunks screaming as they depart the Casino next door in the early hours of the morning. A long walk to most places to dine. TVs are an extra in rooms. Basically over priced, under resourced. More

I stayed in an upstairs studio with a beautiful view of Port Vila Harbour. I watched a cruise ship arrive and depart. Located in the main street I was able to walk every where and didn't need to hire a car. More

Dear Bradley Thank you for taking the time to review our motel. The upstairs rooms do provide great views and excellent value for money as they have not yet been refurbished. However they are clean, fully self contained and the refurbishment of these rooms is planned soon. We have just added air conditioning to two rooms upstairs so we can... More

I stayed in one of the new Executive rooms for three weeks in my role as an advisor to the Vanuatu Government. The room had a queen size bed with large screen satelite TV, lounge, kitchen table and desk for work on my laptop. The luxury fully contained kitchen enabled me to cook all my meals. A large shopping centre... More

Dear Janet Thank you for comments. The Executive studios were only completed in 2010 and have been completely refurbished with new bathroom, kitchen and furniture. There are only 5 of these new rooms and they are often booked out. Other rooms will be refurbished over the coming year so more guests will be able to enjoy our hospitality with a... More

We stayed at the Kaiviti Motel for 2 nights. For our family of 4, it was very convenient to have our own kitchen, and 2 bedrooms, and the location was an easy walk to town. The rate was affordable and they were very flexible about check-in and check-out times, as our flight was delayed. The staff was very friendly here... More

Dear Travelling_Axe Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our motel. Yes we agree that there is still more work to be done on many of the rooms. The property was very run down when purchased and there has been a lot of work done that you can’t see since that time. We are addressing the... More

We are a family of 4 and stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments. Had a great view of the harbour. Furniture was dated but comfortable. The big screen TV and being able to watch Australian TV made up for it. Kaiviti is in a great spot with 2 supermarkets within walking distance so we could save money by... More

Dear Sally Thank you for your feedback. We concur that the furniture is dated and we are progressively replacing it and recovering chairs to improve the look and comfort of the apartments. Our regular guests see something different and improved on every visit. 8 station TV is standard now in the apartments, Executive studios and soon the air conditioned studios.... More

Stayed at Kaiviti many times before and the new executive rooms are great and well worth the extra. They have been completely redone with Queen bed and large TV. The kitchen was awesome with a larger fridge/freezer, microwave and a proper stove and oven. New bathroom was clean and spacious. Furniture has improved with comfy chairs for reading and well... Dear Elaine12354 Thank you for the review. I am pleased that you like the new Executive rooms which were completed in 2010. They have been completely refurbished with new kitchen and bathroom and located on the ground floor away from foot traffic. We note your comments about the staff. We are continually working with them with weekly training session and... More

This is not recommended in it's present state...... mud, dust and a building site at your front door. Not sure where to begin - it looks ok in the brochure, but then an artists impression of the pool and the facilities would. My main problems were, 3 inches of dust under the bed - for someone who has allergies to... More

Thank you for your feedback. There is never a good time for renovations and we are sorry that your experience wasn’t a good one. Your visit coincided with the car park makeover and it was only like that for a couple of weeks. It was completely re-cemented the week after your visit. The dust was caused by the car park... More

We just stayed at the Kaiviti for a short diving trip. Thank you for taking the time to air your grievances and I apologise for taking so long to respond. Our policy was clear during the renovations that guests could move to another hotel without penalty and your tour organiser was aware of that. The renovations on the pool, bar and surrounds took a lot longer than originally expected and you... More
