We stayed at the Wanyou Conifer in Dec. 1999 and Dec. 2004 when we adopted both of our daughters. This is a perfectly adequate hotel, showing signs of age (and maybe, earthquake). It needs work: my closet had sliding doors, one of which came off its track on first use; the building stands on a very busy road which wouldn't matter if the small sliding window closed properly. I visit this hotel regularly, almost every week during most of 2005 to eat in one of two restuarants. Staff do speak English, especially the buffet manager on the 3rd floor.
