Booked a double bed private room with shared bathroom. The only thing is, there is no wall above the door, which by the way leads out in a big noisy dorm with people coming and going all night. Poor lighting and no power outlet, rubbish service. Bed was comfy and bathroom acceptable. Great location.

As soon as we arrived we were welcomed and made to feel at home. A friend and I stayed in the girls only dorm which was a little cramped but comfortable and clean. Our double room was small because part of it was taken up by a large square box covering .....what I don't know(service area I guess!) We had a reservation at Green Kiwi Backpacker, but the owner told us that they had a problem with the reservation and it was already full, so they transferred us to Sleepy Sams, which now is known as Sleepy Kiwi (both names are still used). Stayed there in July 2012 for a few days and I wouldn't recommend it at all, cause there were bedbugs.... It's actually sad, because the location is great, close to MRT and Bugis Mall and you can feel very safe as a female single traveller....
