Stayed at this hotel for just one night. Great location. Rooms are ok. Breakfast could be better. Staff is friendly contrary to what others are saying, we did not have to carry our own bags. Wi-fi is slow in the rooms.

The Diego de Velasquez is great if you get a discounted rate (which I did). I would never pay the standard, "four star" rate for the hotel. I traveled in South America: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile. At hotels, the 4 stars are well below European levels. Another general problem: very poor internet connection. Watch your pockets in the street. The hotel was modest, with inconfortable rooms. A bad breakfast. A good position for travel.

Overall: we recommend this hotel if you are only staying for a couple of days and don't plan on doing much sleeping/spending time in your room.
