We recently stayed at Casa Higueras in Valpariaso just before new years eve of 2011 and had a truly wonderful experience. Very well positioned in easy (if hilly) walking distance to a good chunk of what valparaiso has to offer the hotel was very clean and well run, the staff were exceptionally helpful and polite, and nearly all spoke very... This spot can't be beaten - right in the barrios you'll want to wander around. A beautiful 1920s merchant's house converted into a very stylish small hotel. The restaurant just happens to be one of the city's best, and the pool is gorgeous. Really friendly staff too. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. More

Casa Higueras is one of the nicest small hotels you'll stay in anywhere. Our bedroom had a balcony with a wonderful view over the port - the bed was so comfortable and the bathroom even better. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were just great to lounge in during the very warm four days we were here. It was incredibly peaceful... More

I have read some reviews that are negative about the city and the dilapidated buildings around Casa Higueras. Personally I loved the city and the hotel. This is clearly a city trying to rebuild - and not just from recent problems, but trying to get back some of its more distant glory from when this was a thriving port. I... More

Let's be honest. Valparaiso is not a charming town. It's charming from a distance. Better not to look too closely--too much color is just corrugated metal, too many buildings remain unrepaired from the very severe 2010 earthquake. And best to see it from your room or suite at the Casa Higueras, which is the one lovely, chic spot in town.... More

Excellent experience overall. Very nice rooms, I particularly liked one with a balcony. The restaurant is excellent, beautiful views of the city, and a nice little pool (which our toddler loved) and jacuzzi as well. Service very good as well. Nothing to fault them on, although 4 days was probably too long in Valparaiso given all the other stuff to... More

We only stayed two nights. The hotel is in the middle of the small, winding streets of Valparaiso. A small boutique hotel and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Our room was large, bright and modern - a sitting area and comfortable, large bed. The hotel common rooms were unique in its design - with a... More

This hotel is a great option for anyone wanting to stay in Valparaiso. Valaparaiso is a Unesco Wold heritage site, and the hotel is located in a residential neighbourhood with views of the Pacific ocean. The hotel has spa facilities and a small outdoor pool that is nice for lounging. Our room was quite spacious and comfortable and the washroom... More

Been there 3 times, and fortunately its high quality service remains the same. Probably the best choice for couples or foreign visitors to spend a special weekend and discover Valparaiso´s art district and restaurants. More
