They serve up a great breakfast with strong coffee. The place has a nice relaxed feel to it. The staff can help you book tours/trips, etc. The neighbourhood wakes up early 6-630am, I could never sleep in longer than that because of the noise. The bright side is I didn't need an alarm clock, Quito woke me up every morning!

Community Hostel is a great and economical place to stay in the somewhat difficult city of Quito. I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights in a private room. The place is really cute with a nice comfy common area downstairs and a big table and free WiFi upstairs, one kitchen per floor, and one common bathroom per floor.... More

I have traveled through 20 different countries in my life, and this place is hands down, by far, the BEST hostel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Ideal location within walking distance to many attractions, but nestled in a local and authentic neighborhood, this hostel welcomes you with bright and sunny common areas, several types of beds/rooms... We loved staying at the Community Hostel in Quito! It offers clean beds, and the house is really nice and cozy on the inside, service was friendly....and we met so many other travellers! The only downside would be that the hostel is situated in an unsafe neighborhood, and that you have to take a bit care when walking the streets,... More

The hostel reminded me of home, from the rooms, to the bathrooms and the awesome kitchen available for guests to cook in! Beds were comfortable. The hostel was always clean. They have a projector on the second floor which can be attached to your laptop to watch movies/show. We enjoyed our week-long stay with them! They live up to their... More

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. They brew real coffee every morning. Also, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about not just Quito, but most of Ecuador. It's a great place for a solo traveler because it really does have an awesome community. The breakfasts are some of the most delicious I've had in Ecuador (with actual coffee), and... More

This place is brilliant. We had met someone in Canoa who worked there so found out about it that way. The place is clean and super friendly. The staff give you really good advice on what to do and where to go. Food is brilliant, for dinner you all eat together which is a great way to get to know... More

Great hostel with great people and a good way to stay comfortably in Quito and meet other travellers. Dinners and breakfasts are delicious. In a noisy location being close to the early morning markets.

great place to get into the swing of Ecuador particularly if you are about to start on your Spanish (and do try to learn Spanish while you're in Ecuador). Real community vibe, shared meals and kitchen make it very sociable and easy to meet people and hear about the options in Ecuador. Head to the park on the top of... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Community Hostel. Nice hosts, great beds, kitchen for guests, and common room(s), WiFi better than the Hilton's, and they cook dinner ($5) and breakfast ($2.50) if you wish to partake. The dinners are especially fun as everyone hangs out after, while the hosts bring out the guitars. It was tons of fun.... More
