Me and my family stayed at the Folklore for three nights total, two at the beginning of our stay in Ecuador, and one before we flew home. And I must say, it exceeded any expectation I had. The staff was amazing and helpful far beyond the call of duty. When we went to Banos for two days they held on... More

My experience at the Folklore was that I felt like family more than as only a guest. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood called La Floresta. The Folklore is run by Bernardo and his wife Yadira. They were always available to answer any questions and were very helpful when it came to tours or places to see in... More

We originally were going to stay here for three days and then venture out of the city but it made more sense economically to stay here for our entire week. Bernardo (the owner) offers tours right from the hotel in the comfort of his 4x4 Jeep at a very good price. The included breakfast is great and the wifi is... More

i had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel or should i say hostal. the owner bernardo was extremely rude to my fiance solely because she is colombian. he was very unreasonable with me and provided me with absolutely no reason as to his treatment of my fiance. i was forced to leave the hostal and now i am... We used this hotel twice as we went to and from Galapagos. We received attentive, helpful service. As an example, the host insisted on lending us an umbrella when we walked out in the rain to the supermarket, and when I asked if there was futbol on TV that night he tuned the set in the dining area to the... My friend and I spent 4 nights in this small family run hotel. Bernardo, the owner, and his wife, Yadira, were very welcoming. They helped us find a good restaurant, reliable transportation to and from the airport, and a great guide for our tour of La Mitad del Mundo. The neighborhood was safe, yet conveniently located. The rooms (we stayed... More

After a sixteen day tour through Ecuador with a travel group, I was ready to relax. After staying in a wide variety of accomidations from jungle huts to spas to swanky high end hotels, I was ready for anything that gave me some space of my own. Upon arriving late in the evening, I was greeted by Bernardo and his... More

Really typical small family run hotel with nice and helpful staff and cosy rooms. Situated in one of the safest and most quiet district in centrum of Quito (La Floresta). The room was big enough, with storageroom for valuables and private bathroom. Unfortunately we got a room facing the main road. A bit noisy, but quiet enough in the night.... More

We spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. We had the mini suite room with a cheminey, it was nice eventhough we didn't use it. Bernardo the owner is a very nice and helpful person, he was always trying to help us out (with power adapter, transportation, ...). Highly recommanded place!
