My daughter and i are spending a week discovering Peru. This hotel is a wonderful place the service is impeccable they can't do enough for you. The hotel is amazing it retains much of its history you don't know where to look next. Your room has everything you need when travelling and very spacious. The location is perfect just behind... The good - Beautiful colonial building with public areas to match. Excellent breakfast buffet. Central location. The bad - Our first room was the size of a postage stamp (although one of our daughter's room was a reasonable size - with two twin beds). When we complained they said they couldn't move us. I pointed out we had paid for... More

We were upgraded to a Junior Suite through a credit card deal. While our room was very nice, I kind of felt like we were out of the way from the rest of the property. There was a conference going on, so I guess the best locations were in use. The property is lovely. We had lunch as part of... More

Must stay hotel. Staff and everything is 5 star plus. Rooms were spacious and luxurious. Ate dinner 2 nights and the opera singer just added to the atmosphere. Meals were first rate and the service top class and efficient. Stored our luggage whilst we visited Machu Picchu for the night. On our return we were upgraded and our luggage had... More

If you go to Cusco you have to try the Monasterio Hotel, it's in a converted Monastery (as you would expect) and we stayed in a room that had clearly been monks' cells long ago but all mod coins and very comfortable. The restaurant and bar serve great food and the staff are friendly and helpful

Amazing hotel! The oxygen supplemented air in our room definitely helped us get used to the altitude (this is an optional extra). The staff was attentive to our every need and we could not have asked for more. The included breakfast buffet was great - hot food, pastries, cereal, cold cuts, eggs, cheeses, and (my personal fave) duck liver pate!... More

After 4 days in the Amazon at an ecolodge we headed to Cusco and opted to stay at the Monasterio to get in some luxury before we went on the 4 day Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu. It was a nice way to recover and mentally prepare ourselves for the next few days! Transfers and location: We organised a... More

By far the best advice I received prior to going to Peru was to stay at the Hotel Monasterio. Where do I even begin to sing the praises for Paolo, Pedro and Leo and the hoops they, and the front desk personnel, jumped through to assist me when my daughter became ill and was staying at a nearby hostal with... We stayed for only two nights, and wished our schedule would have allowed more time there. Everything about the hotel, from the rooms to the restaurant to the lounges was outstanding. The center courtyard was beautiful and a wonderful location for breakfast or lunch - complete with live guitar background music. The service was excellent, with everything taken care of... More

As the name implies, the Hotel Monasterio is a converted former monastery and seminary. The architecture of the original building has been carefully preserved. There is even a chapel, that is larger and more beautifully decorated than most parish churches. After we checked in, we were led from the reception area into a beautiful courtyard covered with flowering trees, shrubs,... More
