Very comfortable rooms - was ugraded. Area right around the hotel is so-so, with nothing to do at night in walking distance. However, it is walking distance to the historic center, which is very convenient. Also, if you are a Starwood member, it is only 4,000 points for a free night, which is a very good value.

In the last years, many people in Lima suggested that foreigners should not stay in this hotel. The reason: the surrounding area, close to downtown, used to be unsafe, and noone wants guests to be harrassed or attacked or have them see misery, drug addicts etc.
Those times are clearly over.

I stayed here during the week in December after arriving from North America and before going to Cuzco the next day.
