We've spent 6 nights at this property ! Overall it is a good hotel with a walking distance from shopping punta carretas and havanna cafe(highly recommended) but with a few shortcomings, as follows : 1 - no roomservice after 10:30pm - absurd 2 - no one to carry your luggage right from the car - you have to get in... I spent 2 nights with my wife and our 2 daughters (7 years and 8 months). We had a good rate for an apartment (perfect for us has it has 2 separate areas for the 4 beds). Location is perfect (close to different and the best city beaches, the mall, good restaurants, safe and quite area). To go to city... More

We spent four days at Tryp Hotel over New Year's Eve. Location was great. Hotel is clean, perhaps could use a little updating, but nice overall. Thought the buffet breakfast was nice each morning and the staff at the hotel very helpful. We found some great places to eat through the front desk. We were very disappointed with the pool... More

This is a good business-type hotel - clean, big rooms, efficient service. It's easy to get into the old town, either by bus or taxi, you can walk down to the beach and there are some very good restaurants close by so you can stay near the hotel in the evenings. The only thing I'd fault is the gym/pool which... More

We traveled for 20 days in northern Argentina and Uruguay and had a one night stay in Montevideo after 3 nights in La Barra. We had a rental car and found it very easy to find the Tryp and appreciated their underground parking (no fee) and very friendly and helpful garage attendent! We thought the hotel was very reasonably priced... More

A new and good business hotel located in a very nice neighborhood (Punta Carretas), near good restaurants, shopping and the rambla. Very efficient and polite service (needed to check out at 3 AM to catch a flight - the checkout was conducted in only five minutes and without hassles). Quite big and clean rooms in the standard business-like hotel decor. More

Although far from the old city of Montevideo this is a good hotel in a safe residential area near a lot of tasty neighborhood restaurants in Punte Carretas. Clean and well maintained. Breakfast buffet is standard although the coffee tasted burnt every morning. Across the street from the golf club and a block from the much touted Punte Carretas shopping... More

This place was great. Large, clean rooms. Bathroom was spotless and modern. Beds were comfortable but a little small (not a king as requested). At about $100 per night, this place put other hotels to shame. Not much for views from the room though. Lobby area is open, fresh and flows easily. Seems to be a gathering hotel for groups... More
