I thought the available facilities were quite good considering the location and the situation. Local Food was very good especially the bread. Please note the hand sewn tapestry on the wall of the conference hall. The craft and paintings are amazing.

Spent 4 nights here back in August and was quite satisfied. I was not expecting much. A bit like a Days Inn that needs a refurbish, but everything was clean and orderly. Nice modern TV with access to foreign channels such as CNN. Comfortable but basic bathroom. There was a small balcony attached to the bedroom but the door was...

Everything worked well, big room with balcony, amazing location for running along the river in the morning....waving and smiling to fishermen, people exercising, running, reading in the early morning light. Beautiful! Good choices for breakfast (included), though Korean set menu beats the European one by a mile. And....BRIGHT pink building stands out.
Very comfortable hotel by the standards of the country. One can find fault with the carpet on the stairs or criticize the décor of the dining room, but that is missing the forest for the trees. Friendly and efficient service, very spacious rooms, decent breakfast, billiards room (3 tables and a manned bar), karaoke room, table tennis and golf screen room etc... All this for a very decent price. I wasn't expecting anything in particular but I was pleasantly surprised.

We were scheduled to stay at the Yanggkado Hotel, but upon arrival in Pyongyang our two guides (for 4 people) told us we'd been "upgraded"....as the Potonggang hotel is 10 years older than Yanggakado, we weren't sure that was true...but hey, we're in North Korea...it's not like you're...

Welcome to the Euro zone! Everything must be paid for in cash, preferably Euros, take plenty with you. My 2 minders stayed in the room next to mine. We went everywhere together, except to the former East German embassy which is now converted downstairs to a bar and rec for ex-pats. The room and ensuite where adequate, and there was...

Very clean room but of a Chinese 3 star standard. Cable TV includes CNN, AlJazeera, StarWorld, NHK and the enlightening local channels. Excellent and cheap laundry services. Very good restaurant with excellent service. Very unusual place to say the least.
I will give you more details later. But besides Korio Hotel this is a place to go to if you go to Pyongyang. A night there will cost you around 100$.
