upon arrival we are greeted by a wonderful man who carried our bags to the first room upon checking in. Very friendly chap but we were all surprised to find that our first room had not been cleaned at all... dirty towels laying around, cockroach in the corner, used soap in the dish, and dirty sheets. They transferred us to a... More

Terrible rooms. Sheets stained, was afraid to sleep in them because they smelt so dirty. Food, was okay, but terribly overpriced. Totally overcharged us on our bill at checkout, had to fight with the desk lady for her to take the unecessary charges off. Ocean is beautiful, hammocks are relaxing. Kayaks are available to take out, but the sea was... More

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews of this hotel before staying there. I may have skipped it altogether, and missed a great weekend away from the city. Contrary to what I've read in earlier reviews, the hotel was clean, no bugs (not even a mosquito bite while eating outdoors at night), it was quiet and restful, the pool was... More

Isla Grande is one of my favorite places in this planet. Unfortunately its best appointed hotel is Bananas. I say unfortunately because this hotel is not in the most beautiful and colorful side of the island, in the weekends its crowded, and the service is mediocre (due to understaffing). The hotel rooms are generally clean, but do not expect luxury.... More

We arrived Friday night and we were alone!!! I couldn't imagine alone on a nice resort like this. We had dinner and went to bed. The next day first thing in the morning I went to the bathroom but no water in the toilet? So I dressed up and found a bathroom by the restaurant and surprise NO water. After... More

We spent the afternoon in this hotel, paying $35 per person for lunch and use of the facilities. While the setting is spectacular, the hotel itself is extremely disappointing. The staff were sullen and slow, the sun loungers filthy and the toilets stinking. The place was ridden with flies because leftover food and drink was not cleared away. The pool... More

This is our third trip to Panama--we've traveled most of the country and seen a LOT in a short time. This Isla Grande stay was meant for relaxing, and it delivered. Despite the comments about priciness (we are moderate spenders) and remoteness (we are always on the go), we decided to go ahead with Bananas Village Resort. At first, they... More

The stay started off okay, but then it started to rain. It rained for four days and nights, which is not the resort's fault, but they handled it horribly. The electricty went out the last two days of our stay. It turns out that the rest of the guests left while we were in our room, and none of the... More

Don't be fooled by the pictures posted on the resort's website. For USD 139 per night my wife and I were disappointed to not find any toiletries available in our room, including soap, stained towels, a shower with little or no water pressure, some rude staff, mediocre food and Ocean Spray as a substitute for fresh juice. Beware, flies will... More

Well all i can say is i should have read more reviews before going...what a waste, maybe partly due to the carnavales but overall the price was ridicules food below average for panama, often cold or cool when served, the room was not cleaned after the first night, and for $170 a night we got one bottle of water an...
