We had booked through our agency Gulliver, but when we arrived the booking had not been transmited by their Yangon office . They tried to imposed us a dirty /smelly three beds bedroom for our family . We had a very bad lunch in their restaurant waiting our agent to find an alternative hotel. You have to be a cheap... more

we had booked to stay at this hotel 6 weeks before we arrived and paid in advance asking for a room with a view, but quite. We arrived late in the day and were given a room over reception with a view of reception's roof. quite literally all we could see were roof tiles. We complained to the reception and... more

This hotel is modern, with good A/C and hot water, built in the middle of a downtown block which was once occupied by a bus station. Our room was large, with good beds, nice tub and shower, and a small "minibar" that would chill the diet cokes we purchased on the street. Its complimentary breakfast -- buffet with prepared omelets... more

The hotel is set back from a main road in the city centre. It's modern and clean though our L shaped room would have benefitted from a lick of paint as there were a few marks on the Walls. The rooms all have wood floors and ours had a carved wood statue which was a nice touch. They seem to... more

This hotel is an oasis in a big, dusty and poor city. You enter through a large walled gate into a compound of green gardens and trees. The noise of the city immediately disappears. The rooms are fairly spacious and have parquet wood floors. They are not unlike $250 plus a night hotel rooms in Paris. They are clean and... more

Mandalay City Hotel was alright. Nothing great but not all that bad either. Upon entering our (standard) room though it felt extremely claustrophobic as you can see only two beds and the walls on either side - when you walk further into the room it opens up along the further side and there's a writing table (it's a L-shaped room).... more

This hotel is just borderline O.K. The lobby is fine for relaxing but the restaurant food rather poor...the hamburgers must be the worst in Asia !! but the Thai food is reasonable but ultra spicy The bedroom had a lot of mosquitoes and once these had been got rid of it was comfortable enough. Summary ...fine for an overnight stopover... more
