After staying last year in Al qasar we did decide to go back as this is one of the best hotels in Dubai for few days of relaxations and doing nothing. we had 8 days in dubai so we said 4 days doing and then 4 days in a more central to do shopping all day :)

I guess my opinion is biased because I prefer smaller hotels with a more personalized service. This is a mega resort and entirely impersonal.
Definitely not for business travellers as vacationing families dominate the landscape. Also, the reliance on buggy & abra transfers is not for efficiency seeking businessmen.

Every year I like going to dubai. Excellent place for shopping. The best hotel I tried is Dar Al Masyaf at Madinat Jumeirah. The hotel is divided into houses with maximum 11 rooms (including suites).
