My father and I stumbled upon the Canciller after spending a night at the awful Hotel Viru Viru, a place in which you got electric shocks from the shower. The Canciller has an excellent location with lots of restaurants and services nearby. The hotel amenities are fantastic! I went to this hotel and made a reservation for a couple days later after going to Copacabana. When I came back they couldn't find the reservation and the rate went from $35/night to over $50/night. Ended up staying at Hotel Lido right around the corner without any reservation $35 / night with breakfast. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this hotel. more

Our room was quiet, good sized and clean. The hotel has little charm but is just a block and a half from Santa Cruz' main square. The pool is inviting as Santa Cruz is hot this time of year. Nice Rooms with all the ammenities. We were given a 'group' discount and paid about 40 USD for a large room with two queen sized beds.
