I visited this B&B late in 2012. The owner was stressed, snapping at us to stay out of the kitchen, and miserable. She had just been evicted from her property, which no longer had beach access or views due to massive construction around. Her breakfast was very good and the room were really nice, but her tours ordinary. Worse, while... More

Well you got me on this. I was having a challenging week as you so clearly pointed out. I successfully ran my Inn for more than 5 years gaining many awards as well as being Lonely Planet's #1 pick for Hainan in the last two editions. I am currently developing a network of unique, locally owned and operated Inns that... More

We spent 2 lovely days in Bo'ao at Bo'ao Inn with 2 wonderful american breakfasts and banana's muffins. This stay was better than expected with great and interesting conversations with Elizabeth, who knows a lot and not only about Bo'ao. Next time we will stay longer to have the chance to accompany her around and maybe in Baoting. Don't hesitate... More

When we were heading to Hainan Island we were looking for some wild beaches to just enjoy the beauty of nature and untouched sea: palm trees, coconut trees and tiny cozy cocohuts. But we were so so so wrong! There's no place like Mandrem Goa on Hainan Island. We headed to Boao beach looking for this wild beach. We read... More

After a hectic month studying Mandarin at Hainan University in Haikou, busy with classes, homework and speaking Chinese 24-7, it was a blessed relief to arrive at the Boao Inn for a relaxing weekend. It was wonderful to chat in English and to enjoy a magnificent American style breakfast Sunday morning. The bedrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and there... More

If your looking for a warm homy place on your way go the sunny beachs and resorts of sanya - Elizabeth's inn is your address. Starting with the simple fact you can talk (and be understood...) in English, continuing with the rich breakfasts, deataied information of what you can do around (even on a rainy day), and finishing with small... China offers so much to choose from when it comes to accommodations, however there is only one BO AO Inn. At first I thought the prices were not as low as the 3 star hotel I could stay in but i'm glad i treated myself to this experience. I was given a bike tour through fields, villages, temples, restaurants complete... More

Elizabeth and Rechard are both thoughtful, caring hosts, with a great deal of life experience. Breakfasts were unsurpassable in quality, and our conversations invariably left us with food for thought. We also loved the beach walks, which sometimes extended for hours, and our favourite local restaurant, Colorful Noodles and its wonderful cook. Building construction out back can get noisy and... We stayed with Elizabeth and her Husband Rechard for four nights. We had kind of a family reunion with friends and therefore the whole place for ourselves. We could roam freely and feel like home. I have travelled a lot but never encountered a host that is truly happy to welcome guests. Regarding the huge unpersonal tourist-multistorey eyesores that are... More

Do not think for a second that you will be cheating on your cultural experience by staying at a Western-style B&B while in Bo'ao. Elizabeth is generous with her vast knowledge about the local culture and will give you all the information you need to have just the experience you are looking for, whether that be hanging out at the...
