We were swept up on arrival and sad to leave, our expectations having been completely fulfilled. The set up--old convent with modern extension--it reminiscent of a Spanish parador. Would that there were more such hotels in the Americas. The execution is lovely. The standard of service is high. We even had an excellent dinner in the restaurant.

Absolutely luxurious accommodation within the old, walled city of Cartagena. Everything about this place is 1st class. definitely to price for the room. It was an good room but nothing special for the price we paid. Therefore can not recommend. Pool is nice and not crowded. So you can really hang out there. We never had breakfest, cannot comment on that.

When in Cartagena for sure you will want to walk along the city wall from the Plaza de la Aduana (clockwise) and find your way to the Las Bovedas area where the best arts and craft vendors are located.
