It was a gr8 experience in Riverside Heritage homestay. You will not feel like you are staying in a hotel , the enviornment was so good that you will feel like home stay. Perfect out of town homestay in rural area 8 km south of Fort Kochi. Quiet place at backwater. Fishing with chinese net and trip with semi houseboat pn the spot. High quality room, good service and great food! Certainly will come back when in Kochi. Extra bonus was Biennale in Kochi until 13 march 2013.

Welcome to Mylanthra House “RIVERSIDE HERITAGE HOMESTAY” - approved and licensed as “GOLD GRADE” by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala.RIVERSIDE HERITAGE HOMESTAY is a well-maintained 80-year old traditional bungalow located in Perumpadappu, Cochin on the banks of the Vembanad Lake backwaters.The homestay bungalow is built of bricks. Its roofs and floors are covered with old clay tiles and have wooden ceiling all over. Also on the property, is a newly built Traditional Kerala style RIVER FACING COTTAGE. This cottage is constructed just behind the Heritage bungalow in the year 2011. It is like a miniature of the Heritage bungalow, with modern amenities. All the bedrooms have a modern style en-suite bathroom attached. The property covers an area of 1.25 acres, full of tall trees including coconut, mango, chikku, guava, jack fruit etc. The back garden faces the backwaters. The property also has a traditional pond, which is presently used for growing fish. Guests have a chance to feed these fishes when they stay at the Riverside Heritage Homestay.The homestay has a Chinese fishing net in its beautiful backwaters, which the guests can operate themselves. Imagine catching fish and cooking them for dinner! Sitting beside this Chinese fishing net & watching the sunset is a wonderful experience. The nearby islands in the backwaters have shrimp farms and paddy fields surrounded by evergreen mangroves. The hosts can also arrange mechanized country boats (Semi House-Boat) for backwater boating & visiting shrimp farms & paddy fields in the nearby islands.The bird life here will seize your attention.
