Staying at the Heritage Bungalow is an ideal way to aclimatise to arriving in Kerala. Neema and her family could not have been more welcoming to us. The food was fantastic and the bungalow a fascinating place to stay. The ferry ride from Fort Cochin seeing the sun go down over the chinese fishing nets was spectacular. Thank you Neema,... More

During our two week trip to Kerala we stayed in some lovely homestays and small heritage hotels, but few rivalled the Bungalow for its comfort and the warmth, helpfulness and careful attention to detail of the hosts Neema and Prasad. The house itself would be worth a visit even if you weren't staying there for both its traditional Keralan architecture... More

Neema and Prasad were wonderful hosts. The stay at their place is one of the fondest memories of our trip. They took the trouble to wait up for us when we're out sightseeing and gave us lots of traveling advice. Prasad makes an effort to spend time sharing his life experiences with us even after a tiring day at work.... More

We enjoyed our stay at this unique home which is very close to the harbour for the 5 min ferry hop to the tip of Fort Cochin. Neema and Prasad could not have been more attentive and helpful, sharing their deep family history of the area with us over meals, and giving good advice on visits and such like. The... More

We spent an excellent time (six nights) with Neema, her husband, Prasad and their daughter, Olivia. It is certainly one of the best places to stay at in India, even all around the world. Wonderful hosts, beautiful house, quiet and very comfortable rooms, an excellent location on Vypeen Island and last but not least: Most delicious meals by Neema! We... More

Neema is the custodian of this stunning heritage home which has been in her family for generations, and which she proudly shares with her guests. It is really a beautiful house which gives you the sense that you are living part of Cochi history. You truly feel part of Neema's family when you stay there, and nothing is too much... More

We arrived at Neema's lovely homestay on the first day of the recent 2 day general strike and were saved from hunger by Neema's wonderful hospitality and cooking. Before we arrived we were contacted and asked if we wanted to 'eat in' as there was little likelyhood anywhere would be open or accessible. Neema and Prasad made us feel at... More

We were greeted by Neema and her husband, Prasad on arrival and shown round their lovely house. Our room was very comfortable and had air con which was essential as it was so hot in Kochi. The en-suite bathroom was clean and adequate. Neema was extremely helpful and gave us directions to the ferry and recommendations for dining out, which... More

You can read about the history of The Bungalow elsewhere but the house is comfortable and convenient for access to Fort Kochi and Ernakulam via the ferries which are only a minute or two away. We received such a warm welcome here. This was our first-ever homestay and we really enjoyed staying at The Bungalow, for the beautiful room and... More

Neema's "hobby" is to provide first class accommodation but she, Prasad, Olivia and her parents don't just do accommodation they add the warmest of welcomes and ultimately friendship. Built by Neema's Grandfather in the 1930's the place has style, character, history and all the comforts one could possibly ask for. Previous reviews speak for themselves both with regard the bungalow,... More
