My wife and I were visiting the Rio Costilla area in December, while looking for a quiet vacation home and stayed here during our search. The setting is fantastic, with our stay in the straw bale cabin being cozy and warm. This was a good first encounter with a straw bale building and it performed marvelously. Our hosts were gracious... More

Just what the spirit ordered! We stayed at the MW Bar Ranch earlier this month (mid-July) and the weather was perfect. We were the only guests for the weekend and stayed in the detached cabin just next the the main house but with lots of privacy. MaryAnn and Lawerence we gracious hosts and shared breakfast with us each morning as... More

This was one of the NM B&Bs that offered a free night to veterans for the national program to honor veterans over Veterans Day, so I thank the hosts, a married couple, for doing that. I enjoyed talking to them. The main house (there is also a detached casita) is very beautiful and spacious and, much to my liking, is... More

Stayed in the cabin for a weekend in late October. Travel with another couple who stayed in the house. Great place, comfortable, great hosts and great food. Fishing on private water in late October was slow but two of us who fished both had luck. Highly recommend MW Bar Ranch and will be back.

My adult son and I were guests at the MW Bar Ranch B&B for two nights (Fri and Sat) in mid- Oct. This was a perfect time to visit the mountains of far northern NM. Scenery and climate were perfect, leaves were changing color, morning air was crisp and warmed pleasantly in afternoons. Rio Costillo and Comanche Creek were low... More

My husband and I stayed in the cabin at the MW Bar Ranch. The cabin is next to the main house, but gives a sense of privacy. It has a fully equipped kitchen and we were able to cook dinner each night. However, there were wonderful aromas coming from the main house and we will definitely pay for dinner during... More

My wife and I absolutely needed a place to decompress. The MW Bar Ranch totally filled the requirement. From the beautiful, extremely well equipped adobe cabin where we stayed to the great secluded property with pastures, horses and a running stream, to the main house, the hospitality of Mary Ann and Lawrence and the three wonderfully friendly dogs, this retreat... Love this place! It's heaven on earth and the wonderful owners are a great resource to the whole region, really all of New Mexico. So impressed by their kindness, service, awesome breakfasts and all around helpfulness. If you want to be out there, and I mean out there, (closet place for real food is Taos about an one hour south),... More
