I picked the Heritage Inn in Artesia because the prices of hotels in Carlsbad were outrages! The Heritage Inn was a neat little place to spend a couple of nights while visiting nearby Roswell and Carlsbad. The room was small, but nice and fit our family of 3. Sue, the innkeeper, is excellent at her job and makes everyone feel... More

I stayed at the Heritage Inn for the first time recently and found it to be very good. Sue, the owner, was very welcoming and informative. My room was clean, the bed comfortable, and I got a great night's sleep. The hotel is right in the historic downtown and within easy walking distance of the Wellhead, one of the better... More

We stayed for two days earlier this week (March, 2013) and found the Inn to be clean, comfortable, and accomodating. Sue, the innkeeper, is so pleasant and was quick to meet our every need. This place is well worth the price!

We stayed here on spring break after visiting Carlsbad Caverns and an in-between spot before heading to White Sands. The town is very small and doesn't have alot of choices for dining but we enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's on the second floor of a downtown building and yes they have stairs to go up. The room was very... More

This is a beautifully maintained old hotel in Artesia, NM. Very clean, excellent furnishings. I loved that it didn't have wall-to-wall carpeting on the floors, which are impossible to clean well. My room had beautiful hard-wood floors with area rugs. Bathroom had antique-style furnishings but was completely modern in function. Bed was very comfortable with great linens. The staff is... More

Charming, charming reno of an old 1902 inn. But it is on second floor with many many stairs up a winding staircase, and no elevator was installed during the reno. Apparently the lower level was rented out to a store, and the owner of the building hadn't thought about the need to have an elevator until too late to plan... More

Artesia doesn't have much going for it unless you're in oil, but what it does have is this gorgeous hotel which makes up for the everything else. The welcome when you arrive is friendly and the rooms are gorgeous, we had a huge room at the front of the hotel with lovely highly polished wooden floors a superb comfy bed... More

This was a great little boutique hotel in the oil town of Artesia. If you're planning a trip to Carlsbad Caverns definitely make the drive north. The rooms are spacious and the continental breakfast has everything you could want. All of the reviews are spot on from the honor refrigerator to the innkeeper.

This was a quaint, small, hotel with only 10 rooms. There was a common area on the first floor with a TV and comfortable furniture. The upper level was very homey and the innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating. There was a refrigerator stocked with pop, yogurt and other items that were paid for on an honor system. The room... More
