If you are looking for an opportunity to get away from all the fuss that comes with being a tourist than Bamboo Nest is the ideal place to stay. Situated above the local Laiho hill tribes, you won't see any power lines out here. All of the electricity comes from solar panels. There is no internet, no TV, no cell... More

Many spots in Thailand aren't really as picturesque as the Lonely Planet books but this little piece of heaven on earth pretty much matches everything I imagined North East Thailand to be in my mind. Initially, I found this place on TA purely because my travel companion was bent on staying in a hut. Situated among the hill tribes in... More

This guesthouse is way out of town with little to do but hike and relax. If you are looking for nice views with no wifi, distractions or much else, its a good choice. Bathrooms were very basic. Our bungalow had a shower, toliet and sink but heard that another bungalow didn't have a sink. Bungalow room was also very basic.... More

If you want to experience a taste of the rural life close to the hill-tribe communities of NE Thailand with the luxury of a hot shower and excellent home-cooked meals, this is the place to go. There are tranquil views over rice fields to distance mountains from the cluster of bamboo huts that make up Bamboo Nest. Great walks through... More

Nok and Noi are outstanding people and work really hard to keep Bamboo Nest running. They are friendly and hospitable, they cook the most amazing food and they are very approachable people. We stayed two nights at Bamboo Nest in February 2013 and I would honestly say it was one of the best parts of my travels. The scenery alone... More

We visited Bamboo Nest in May 2012 and loved it. We were picked up at the bus station by Nok, and getting to Bamboo Nest felt like an adventure itself. We spent out time there relaxing, reading, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We took a hike to a waterfall led by their dog and enjoyed a cool swim. The hike... More

Very nice location with beautiful soundings. Perfect for a couple of nights, and if you want to take it really easy you can stay for a week. Good hiking opportunity with several attractions nearby. If you like mountain sights hiking and a easy going life this place is perfect.

Beautiful location in the middle of the mountains (about one hour from Chiang Rai). It's peaceful and quiet. The bungalows are nice and the view from the balcony is even better. At night everybody sits around the campfire and you will see a lot of stars. Nok and Noi are super friendly and they make sure you have an excellent... More

As I was looking for an accom in Chiangrai, I noticed that this is the #1 listed accomodation. Without any hesitations, I emailed them and I was told that the rate is 500 baht per night. Its very affordable. This place is run by Nok and Noi. Nok was the one i was in contact with and she actually picked... More
