What a magic place to stay. I could sit all day looking at the Gorge and watching the Augur Buzzard dive-bombing the Black Eagle. Hendrik was an excellent host. He even organised a surprise birthday cake! The road is essentialy 4WD country and takes about 30 mins for the 11km. The chalets are unique and definitely fall into the romantic... More

The drive in is an experience but well worth it. Unfortunately the owner/operators were away for personal reasons so I can't comment on them but the absolute gentleman (sorry i cant remember your name)who was looking after the place for them looked after us very well. All the local staff members are brilliant. We were well looked after by all... More

Simply the best location for a lodge I have ever seen. Balancing on the edge of the Batoka Gorge overlooking the Zambezi and rapid No 17. The hosts/owners/managers are real pro's and will look after you from dusk till dawn. The chalets are immaculate and attention to detail shows the professionalism of Anmarie and Farn. This was the second lodge... More

This camp is situated about 11 kms off the main road. You really need a 4WD to negotiate the track to get there as it can be very muddy after rains and very steep and washed out at any time. It is run by a big Afrikaner (Jannie) and his wife, and they built the place by hand over the... More

This was the second time I've stayed at the Taita Falcon Lodge and it's still a wonderful place, so very different to some of the alternatives in Livingstone. Taita Falcon Lodge kindly arranged a trip to Livingstone Island which departs from the Royal Livingstone - stay in the Taita Falcon Lodge if you want the friendly without being overwhelming, and... We had a fantastic 3 nights camping here. The owners (Annemarie and Finn) have created a camp site which gives you a sense of space and tranquility, and Matteus took great pride in ensuring our stay was the best! The lodge facilities are stunning (the bar must have the best view in Zambia!) and the welcome was warm. It is... More

We had a brilliant time staying at the campsite. We were in Kanniedoo site. The shower was the best think I have ever experienced in ablutions!!! I am so glad we stayed here and not the Butlins type places more towards the town. Its a bit off the beaten track but absolutely worth it. The owners are very welcoming and... More

What a stunning surprise! Removed form the crush of tourists at the large commercial hotels and lodges this small lodge with its seven chalets sits atop the Zambezi gorge. Excellent home cooked style meals, a well stocked bar overlooking the river down below, and a rustic truly African ambience to end the day. The accommodations are excellent with attention to... More

My husband and I stayed at the lodge for 2 nights and were blown away with the amazing view of the Zambezi River. The Lodge has 7 chalets, each is beautifully furnished, a bit rustic with a shower that looks like it is embedded in a tree. The food was fantastic, the owners and hosts were super helpful and organized... More

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here by accident. We had booked on a whitewater rafting trip with Water By Nature and we were booked in here after 4 days on the Zambezi. We truly felt like movie stars as we landed at the hotel by helicopter from the river trip and I have to say, we... More
