Typical Toyoko Inn a few minutes walk from the station (turn right out of the station then left). No welcome coffee (unlike the T Inn in Matsumoto), don't know why. Stayed 3 nights at Kofu, October 2011 to hike in the nearby Shosenkyo Gorge. Hotel is 2 mins walk from JR station. The hotel's cliental is mainly Japanese business men/women but with some travelers.
