Location and price are the reasons you should consider this hotel. Location is so convenient. A little walk to Kannai's ghetto, a little walk to Minato Mirai (ferris wheel, mall, cup noodle museum, etc), a short train trip to Yokohama, you are in the middle of all the business lunch specials. There's so much great food choices. My gosh, please look up lunch specials in the area. Generally, look for lines at 12pm. Those are the places that offer unbelievable value. We're talking a kaisendon for 600 yen ($5.50). If you are here long term and want to stay fit, you are a block away from Gold's Gym. They offer 2 weeks for 7000 yen, etc. Hotel is on the older side. It's a business hotel after all. It's small, you'll get your rest, you can work, you can shower, go down early for their breakfast special. The mattress was the rolling mattress which squeaks a lot (yes, it squeaks a lot). I was able to hear the neighbors, but sound machine did the job. Tip - They will offer to give you a water bottle for not cleaning your room. I don't want them in my room anyways so it was free water. They want you to hand them the keys before leaving. When you come back, you just say your room number, but this made me feel very uncomfortable. Anyone dressed normally can ask for a room key. The charger didn't work. This goes for most business hotels, but it's small. I hate the bathrooms that feel like you went inside a box. Workers were always friendly and professional. This place also seems to operate as a love hotel. There's a sign in the back that says they welcome "puchi rest" which they charge you to stay for 3 hours for 2 people.

Closed to JR sakuragicho station (400m) and attractions. Many malls near the station. 7 eleven is 2 blocks away. Bathroom is small and not enough to turn around or walk out from bathtub to bathroom door. Smaller than other hotels I stayed in Yokohama. We stayed in a 4 bedroom. Had some space to keep the luggage. No nice view from room. Seems like an old hotel. TV only had Japanese chanels. The staff is not so helpful unlike other hotels in Japan. Specially when booking the limousine bus to airport. That's why I'm giving ĺow rating. Staff can just manage English. Didn't try their breakfast.

Was given a twin even though alone. Low doorway and small shower made getting in and out a bit of a squeeze. Older hotel showing its age. Staff spoke some English. One of the cheapest options on a Monday night, and in a great location for exploring Bashamichi area.

Most of the guests are budget Japanese tourists. The TV channels are all Japanese. The very basic breakfast is Japanese. That being said, if you like Japan, this hotel is convenient to everything in Yokohama. There is a mall close by with two Daiso stores, the largest of which encompasses for floors! The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, but larger than at other Japanese budget hotels. Check-in is 4:00 PM, with check out at 10:00 AM, to keep costs down. The Bashamichi Subway Station is close by, as is the JR Kannai Train Station. Restaurants are within feet of the hotel. The location is quiet. There are no views, however.

The rooms are small with basic amenities. Very average room, but clean. It is near a main street with many different types of restaurants. Also very close to the subway station. If you go a bit further, there's also a main shopping strip with stores and restaurants galore. Wi-Fi is free, but can be a little slow for things that require a lot of data (like Skype).

Room was small but not too small, view out of window was a brick wall. It did have free wi-fi which was good and its a 5 min walk to the nearest station. For the price it wasn't bad but some people might find the room is too small for them. It also had great air conditioning.

Yokohama Heiwa Plaza is a cheap and conveniently located hotel that is very close to the Minato Mirai Bashamichi Station. The room and bathroom are small but clean. The mattresses are on the firm side. If you need extra pillows, just call the front desk and they'll bring them to you. This is an old hotel, with minimum amenities provided--towels, toothbrushes, razors, shampoo, conditioner and body soap. One stick of powdered green tea is provided along with a little electric pot. There's no view to speak of, no matter which side of the hotel your room is. They offer a breakfast buffet for 800yen, I personally prefer to go to Jonathan's that's a block down. There're also a couple of 24-hr convenience stores so there's no problem if you get an attack of the midnight munchies or need to get some coffee in the morning. There are plenty of good places to eat in that vicinity, my particular favorite being Green, a bar and grill. Their lamb chops are to die for.

This is a very basic hotel - clean, practical and much as we expected for the price. We stayed in a double room with an extra bed squeezed in (3 single beds in total) which meant most of the space was taken up by beds. Good job we didn't have much luggage as that would have been pushing it a bit. The room itself was pretty well kept but it is obviously not a new hotel and there was a little 'wear and tear' here and there. We did have a few issues with the air conditioner as it wasn't working very well the first night due to the filters being dusty. After mentioning it to the front desk however, the filters were cleaned immaculately and it cooled the room down much better on the second night. The toilet/shower is really tiny, reminding me of the toilets on the airplanes so be prepared for a bit of a tight squeeze. They were nice and clean though, with a nice strong shower - perfect after a sweaty day of sightseeing. As in most Japanese hotels, the staff were very efficient and took care of us well. We actually checked in a little early and they were happy to take care of our bags while we explored Yokohama. So basically, the location is excellent for exploring the most popular areas, the hotel is reasonably priced and it suited our needs for a cheap and cheerful 2-night stay in one of the best cities in Japan.

Not a modern hotel, nor a sparkling tower with great views. But it does the job if you need a basic place to stay and a good night's sleep. Beds were comfy, the room had a TV and a little fridge. Coin laundry on the 10th floor (I seem to remember) and a small lounge area downstairs. Easy walk to Sakurgicho/Kannai/Bashamichi stations. Plenty of restaurants and food shops near by. Just needs updating and giving a fresh lick of paint and new decor!
