We visited Yachiyo that opened 2 month ago in Dogo Onsen. Their service is so kinds. Room is good design and clean. We can take Dinner and Breakfast in room. There are big bath at front floor and small bath in each room. These are also Hot Spring. It’s located 10min. by walking from Dogo station.

Pros: Big room (Japanese style), immaculately clean, with fairly new tatami. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Dinner was served in the room, Traditional Japanese breakfast in a dining room downstairs. Attentive staff, though limited English. Cons: Carpeting and walls in common areas were very worn and surprisingly dirty, with unknown stains. Furniture in the lobby reasonably clean, but again showing wear and not very comfortable. We really wanted to like this hotel; the staff all seemed to be trying their best to make us comfortable. We had the impression that perhaps they don't get many foreigners staying there. The baths were OK, nothing special. Our room was lovely and comfortable, but the hallways were definitely in need of an update. Upshot: OK if you are in the area, but not worth a special effort to stay here.

I went to Japan last summer by myself. I'm a 19 year old girl. I stayed at this hotel for two nights and felt very welcome and safe. The staff were really kind and did their best to make me feel comfortable. The man who seemed to be in charge didn't speak a lot of English but he still made me feel at home. I did have to complain about some children that were running around and yelling in the mornings and when I called down stairs they didn't seem to understand what I was talking about. But without me asking they came up to my room so I could better explain to them and they took care of the problem. This was my first time traveling alone especially to such a far away country (I'm from America) and I was feeling quite lonely, however the manager stopped me on my way back from the Onsen and told me that he had spoken to my dad (who set up the reservation) and that if I needed anything at all to come straight to me. This small act of kindness went a long way this me and really made me feel at home. I would defiantly recommend this hotel! PS. breakfast was great!

This hotel has spacious traditional Japanese rooms with futon beds. The hotel appears well managed with friendly welcoming staff and excellent onsen facility in the hotel. We were pleased with services offered by the hotel and the attention to detail. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the onsen in the centre of Dogo with the hotel providing Yukata and towels for visits.

We stayed at Hotel Yachiyo in the middle of our three weeks spent in Japan. We wanted to stay at a place that had its own hot spring bath and that had Japanese style rooms. Hotel Yachiyo fit the bill. We also took the half board plan and were very impressed with the fresh Japanese food for dinner and breakfast. The first two nights, the dinners were served in our rooms with very professional and efficient servers...they came and cleaned our table, set out the dishes and tried to explain what they were and how we should proceed with eating them (ie: boiled, dipped etc). The final night, we had our meal in thr restaurant and again, thr attentiveness and help from the servers were amazing. The meals were very filling and we were well stuffed every evening. Breakfast was also as big, but a warning, if you are a westerner looking for your typical coffee, toast, sausage and danish, you won't get it. Instead, you will get a healthy and nutritious Japanese breakfast which typically includes fish, which is cold, rice, miso soup and some tofu...we loved it! After you finish your meal in the evening and after the servers come and clean off the dinner plates, the housekeeping staff will come and make your futon for you. The pillows are like bean bags with styrofoam beans in them, but we found them to be very comfortable and slept like babies for the three nights that we were there. The whole staff, although limited in English were superb and tried their hardest to make our stay enjoyable and it worked because we felt welcome and spoiled by their attentiveness for the whole three days that we were there. I highly recommend you stay there for an authentic Japanese experience!
