Stayed a tree house for two nights. Very well appointed, looking straight at the water. Local establishment with a light footprint on the Jungle around it. Lots to do and a quick journal across the water from Bako National Park. Cost very reasonable indeed. Lovely little restaurant looking out towards the sunset. Staff very attentive. Would recommend highly..

We spent three nights in one of the impressively clean, but slightly rustic tree houses. It was comfortable, surprisingly cool - we didn't use the air conditioner at all - and the screens on the windows and balcony doors did a good job of keeping jungle critters out. The setting is idyllic; we were lucky enough to be visited by... More

Permai Rainforest resort - its definitely not a luxury retreat, it has a run down, neglected edge to it but the setting and feel of it makes it unique and definitely worth a stay. We stayed for 3 nights in tree house number 10 which is the last one along the path - its nearer to tree house number 9... More

We stayed in a tree house which had all we needed and was very clean. It had one double room (single beds) , air conditioning and a wet room. The whole site is well maintained and the staff are all very helpful and friendly. The restaurant offers an adequate range of local and international dishes. Although I rarely eat fish... More

We stayed for two nights in treehouse no. 5. It was definitely a unique experience. The accommodation is fairly basic, and worryingly shook quite a bit if anyone moved around, but how often do you get to stay in the rainforest canopy! The most pleasing thing was that everything was well organized. Our airport pick up was waiting for us... More

It was really an amazing trip, we went with our friends family (3+3) and we booked the double story cabin which indeed have 3 bed rooms and 2 toilets. Which is a bit of waste since we only use 2 bed rooms. Actually the main purpose to choose the double story cabin is mainly for the 2 toilets since we... More

You can either stay in the log cabins or the tree houses. But since we went as a big family, the log cabins were our preferred choice. Two rooms to a cabin with bbq place outside. Easy walk to the beach, where it's more isolated comparatively to neighboring resorts/hotels. The cabins itself are set in a jungle atmosphere. Nice for... More

Our visit to the Permai Resort, staying in a Treehouse, was amazing. We really were high in the canopy, and could hear the South China Sea lapping on the rocks below. We were lucky enough to have a tropical storm on our first night, such a great atmosphere on the edge of the jungle. Food at the Rainforest Cafe was... More

Permai offers one of the best locations in Kuching. It has both the forest and the beach which is ideal for holiday away from the city. Permai has a double-storey cabin which is good for my group of 8 people! Although the booking of this cabin was tedious (you need either a Malaysian bank account e.g. Maybank to do a... More

We really enjoyed our stay here in a double room treehouse. The views of the sea are unbeatable and being right in the jungle itself whilst still having luxuries was a great experience. The staff are more than happy to arrange boat trips, etc., although these weren't the cheapest. I suspect this is because of the lack of competition in... More
