Started off on the wrong foot or bad setting; having a heated argument over my reservations over which I had made over three calls that were all answered in the day, the timely intervention of the Manager saved us what will had turned out to be a hectic night of looking for alternative accommodation that night. Because the hotel was fully booked I think the menu pricing was adjusted upwards because the new price was written over masking tape placed over the old price. The executive singles seems not to have floor drain causing uncomfortable pool of water though house keeping normally takes care of this but you are constrained until then. Good food though as inferred earlier high undisguised price. For room I did go for the classy overlooking the pool which is untraditionally clean considering other aspects…

The hotel is awesome, got a pool, a fitted restaurant, a bed as comfortable as you can imagine. The food is fabulous. Customer Service is awesome and friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay there and look forward to going again. You can use the hotel for business or pleasure. Try it out and you will thank me. It's affordable and luxurious.

I stayed in the Royal side of the hotel for two nights. It's older than the gold side but it's comfortable and very quiet. I had to meet with my guest in the lobby / restaurant. Both areas were greet to use and the food is great.

The hotel has a Gold and a Royal wing and they are worlds apart! I stayed in the Royal wing and enjoyed the tranquility of the place i stayed. Friendly and helpful staff. The food is also good for those who enjoy local food. Some parts of the Royal wing was undergoing renovation at the time of visit. The swimming pool at the Gold wing was fun to be in. I enjoyed myself....The Gold wing is actually another world

I stayed at the new property for a night. Expansive property, warm front office. The room furnishing in this hotel is average for the price. Bathroom fittings, the bed etc. My major issue is the staff coming to knock on your order to give you complimentary sachet of beverage and water. Please leave this on the room. But it suggests integrity on the part of employees which can make guests to be wary of ttheir valu ables.

Let's start by the positive side: The hotel is close to the airport and the staff is very friendly and will not hesitate to go the extra mile for you. That's all the good I can say about this place... The hotel exteriors are dull, you'll have to pass some form of dumping ground to go to the restaurant located in a separate building where the breakfast "spread" is the worst I've seen in Nigeria and most probably one of the worst I've seen period! The rooms.... Where to start?... The "decoration" is just plain ugly (but then again that could be a matter of taste) large uncomfortable pillows on very short beds (I'm 1.77m and had to sleep in diagonal to keep my feet on the mattress). I had to change room on arrival as even after checking the room the attendant didn't find anything wrong with AC blowing hot air and toilet sits sitting on the floor next to the toilets. New room new decoration. A bit better. I had to ask for bedsheets as they had "forgotten" to put any... The restaurant is horrendous and whatever you'll dare to order, you can count on a good hour/ hour and half before you get served some very basic meals. I could go on and on with the list of "sorry" I was served during my 2 days stay. I usually stay at the Protea hotel and, not very pleased with it, decided to try this hopeless place... I ended going to the Protea to be able to eat something for breakfast every mornings. The "paradise on earth" and other "fantastic" comments you may read are honestly laughable... Whether they are gross fakes (an Australian lady who can't write decent English) or make me wonder what places on earth these people actually visit. Don't get me wrong, I have been traveling all over the world for the past 20 years and still spend over 6 months a year in hotels from the most basic to some very high end ones. I know how to adjust my expectations. The safety? This little plastic barrier and half asleep non armed guard (except the one man at night you may see walking around) made people feel so safe? Great! They are really not asking for much. Thinking of doing some work from the hotel? Work on your patience as it'll be slow... Very very slow and inconsistent internet connexion... It is hard to find good hotels in Benin and this one is certainly not one of them. I will not be back and asked my Nigerian colleagues to remember that in my books this hotel is blacklisted as I have no time to waste with places like this left with no competent management. Good wills is sometimes not enough. Sorry but this place is a joke. And not a good one. The good scores and Trip Advisor stickers are questionable to say the least....…
