We Loved our stay in this spectacular lodge. From the guides to the food to the fabulous nature we observed, it could not be beaten! Our travel company - Chimu Adventures highly recommended we visit the lodge during our stay and we don't regret it for a second. One of the best nature experiences we have had anywhere.

I felt like I was a member of Swiss Family Robinson. an incredible lodge in an incredible setting. The accommodations were not what I expected, but only better. Our guide was the best, the food was top notch. These three days were the highlight of my trip! Hiking in the jungle was a good workout, get in shape before you... More

After a 2.5 hr boat trip upstream, we were taken by surprise by the beautiful resort that sat deep within the jungle, one of which that was purposely built to protect the delicate Amazon, whilst accommodating the needs of tourists. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic, stopping frequently to highlight and discuss the ecosystem and natural landscape.... More

We were met by our guide, Yuri, at the airport in Puerto Maldonado. What I really LOVED about Rainforest Expeditions was that each family or individual traveling alone, or each couple was assigned their OWN guide. This is FABULOUS for many reasons. We could go on a trek whenever and wherever we wanted and without any real schedule per se.... More

We stayed four days at Refugio Amazonas, and we really enjoyed it. Each day was a new adventure, the food was delicious, perfect views, and direct contact to nature. We went after the raining season (end of april), so each day was very sunny. We saw many animals in their natural environment: ronsoco, capuccino monkey, papagayos, and among others. I... More

Staying at Refugio Amazonas is an adventure which starts from the moment you get off the plane at Puerto Maldonado. A short 5 min bus ride takes you to the main office where you repack your suitcases with only necessary items for your stay. Then you board a bus for a 45 min ride to the riverboat. After travelling upstream... More

Excellent. Go there. You will not regret it. Seriously! Beautiful grounds, amazing water and rooms, good food, great guides, in the middle of the rugged Amazon! My girlfriend and I loved it on our three day trip.

I stayed here as part of an Intrepid Tour. It was a simply incredible experience. I was expecting basic accommodation but it was luxourious! The staff in the lodge were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Equipped with a beautiful social area(with bar and extensive cocktail menu), it was the perfect place to socialise and make new friends.... More

Great place to visit if you are in Peru. The boat ride, while 4 hours long from Puerto Maldonado, is well worth it as you get to see so much of the wildlife of the area. The lodge itself is a stunning complex open to the jungle. Your room will be as well which is both exciting and slightly terrifying.... More

We stayed at Refugio Amazonas as part of our travel itinerary with Intrepid Travel.
