The location is great, 10-15 minutes walk to Red Square. The interior is worn out - old furniture; worn out carpet. The beds are terrible. The hotel should replace the bed if nothing else. We experienced an incident in front of the hotel. It was a scam of un-uniformed policeman asking for ID and money. We were not affected since... More

We could not fault the hotel for its location, about 3 mins walk from the Bolshoi and 7 mins from Red square, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms were adequate and what I expected Russian Hotels to be like - basic facilities, off hand service and unexciting food - I was not disappointed! That said, it all... More

An exceptionally handy hotel for visiting the main sites of Moscow (Kremlin & Red Square), less than 10 minute walk to the Bolshoi. The decor and carpets were a little tired in places but this was more than made up for by the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. Access to swimming pool, gym and restaurant of Peter the First... More

This hotel is wisely located only a 10 minutes walk from Red Square and the Kremlin. It s a very old hotel, classic decor and old facilities, though bathroom had been redone in an acceptable way. We stayed in an executive suite since we are a party of 3 and the room was really large, well heated and comfortable. Almost... More

For our first 5 nights here, we had a large room with plenty of room to spread out over several days. Located centrally, we were able to readily access areas such as Red Square, The Kremlin, The Bolshoi Ballet, Alexander Gardens and the subway. Also close to affordable cafes and restaurants, a supermarker and pharmacy. Many great walks to be... More

We stayed in this hotel as a family for 4 days in May 2013. Check in was swift with no problem. The staff new acceptable English. The hotel was very run-down and dilapidated with extremely long corridors which would take you quite a while to get to your room. The room was OK, with room for an extra bed, a view of... More

My girlfriend stayed here in the winter of 2012. Although the price was affordable and the location great (a 5 min walk to the Bolshoi), this is a terrible hotel and should be avoided. Their heating was not sufficient. The hottest setting on the dial was barely perceptible, causing us to shiver enough to request for an additional heater, which... More

When you compare the Budapest with other hotels in the same range of prices in Europe, it is not worth 4/5 as stated below : old furniture, old facilities (bathrooms, walls and floors deserve a renovation), no free-wifi (I mean really?!), the doorman doesn't actually open the door but stay next to it all day talking to another guy, cleaning... This hotel looked very grand, but in the small bathroom floor tiles where cracked, we had to eat in the hotel nextdoor and the use of the pool was at a extra charge of £10 each . The drinks in the hotel are very expensive, £8 for a glass of orange juice and £5 for water.
