I have never encountered such a rude receptionist as I had once I arrived at the hotel. It made me regret swicthing from a hostel to a hotel in the first place given the stark contrast of the warm and friendly people at the hostel I stayed in. The privacy and comfort my hotel room was completely underwhelming as well... More

Located far from city centre, only good thing is unique market nearby. Rooms need some refreshments, staff not very welcoming. Price is fair, so check your wallet of you have enough funds for better hotel- go for it

The hotel is very well situated, easily reachable from both airports via Airport Express & metro. VIP breakfast is good according to western European norms and the Il Canto Italian restaurant serves good Italian cuisine. The metro station Partisanskaya is right across the street and within 15 to 20 minutes you're directly in center or any other locations to have... More

I spent three nights in this hotel last month. I was with a packaged tour group so I don’t know the price of the room. I think this hotel was quite disappointing. The room looked old and outdated (but I liked the in-room wifi very much). The arrangements with the key and breakfast coupons were ridiculous (you have to leave... More

Moscow is the most expensive city in the world, and you'll notice when trying to find a decent hotel. If you don't want to pay astronomic prices which have no relation to the service rendered, Alfa is a good alternative. It's a Soviet collossus, dating from the Olympics. About 26 stocks, don't expect it to be cosy or personal. Don't... More

I stayed 3 nights (4-6 August 2012). Nice, cleam A/C in room, mini-bar and cooler in room, FREE internet everywhere in hotel (!!!!), breakfast and dinner very good. Excellent location with less than 20 mins from the room to the city centre. We would stay here again!

The hotel is enormous, with departments like Alpha, Beta, Delta & Gamma, and all of them are really big. It will take you 20 minutes with underground to the Red Square. Right beside the hotel there is a big market with a lot of souvenirs to buy, for example uniforms, hats and medals from the Sovjet-times. The hotel itself is... More

The front desk / floor service was pretty off-hand but what do you expect in Russia? The room was adequately cleaned but the carpets and curtains were old and the place stank of smoke. The hotel is close to the Metro so thats a bonus. Another draw-back is we failed to find a nice resturant nearby. The price was the... More

So if you are American and are accustom to US Hotels, this isn't one of them. I cannot speak for the typical Moscow Hotel so I cannot compare it to its Russian counterparts. So this is what is was like. The beds were platform twins with old camp type mattresses on them. They could be pushed together to form a... More
