Had to make a pit stop here to buy bits for the car, followed lonely planet reviews and they were way out, much more expensive, hotel has secure parking but is very expensive for the boxy, old, shabby room you get. To get a double room was nearly twice the price of a twin. Room is clean, just and and... More

The condition of the hotel are acceptable overall taking in consideration where we are: standard level is much much lower than West Europe, we are in Caucasian area. Location is excellent, very close to the centre possible to go walking. Lobby is very soviet style and service is not good but is the same in this area in all the... More

Pros: reasonably inexpensive, view from location on a hill (every room has a balcony). Cons: everything else. Although building facade and lobby have some sparkle, service is nearly non- existent and rooms barely at level of youth hostel... Stayed twice at beginning and end of trip to this region, stayed in what I assume are the non- renovated (less expensive)... More

This is a basic standard hotel in need of some refurbishment but nevertheless comfortable and clean. Breakfast was just about acceptable as was the comfort of the bed. Staff were quite helpful, there was a slight hitch with check-out early on Saturday morning but that was sorted out in the end.

This was my first trip to Russia, and to be honest my hotel expectations were set quite low. Keeping that in mind, the Intourist was exactly what I was expecting. I rated it a 4 not because I think it is a Very Good hotel, but because it is Very Good for an old hotel in a remote part of... More

This hotel has a good location and is very clean but that is where the good points end! Breakfast was terrible and staff weren't very helpful. Soviet style and needs serious updating but as I say very clean so can't complain too much! Breakfast would be my biggest gripe!

Still has some of it's "Soviet" character - especially in the lobby, but the room (an older, cheaper, unrenovated room) was just fine- no a/c, but it wasn't necessary when I was there. All rooms have balconies, and the newer ones may have more amenities. Free wi-fi in the lobby, and maybe in some of the newer rooms. I paid... More

I should firstly question the previous report. The room rate for a 10th storey, one-bedroomed suite was 4500RUR per night, this is approx. $160. But, the room with large en-suite/jacuzzi/bidet and very large lounge area was excellent. There were 2 balconies. Lifts are small but good quality. Service - perfect. Central to the town and the spa areas. Rooms very... More

Rooms small and very basic bathroom facilities. Only single beds and quite hard. They have refurbished the foyer which is a lot better now and they also take credit cards now. Service is only average but best place to stay in the region.

It is possible to book rooms at this hotel on their internet website, paying by VISA. It was about $45US / night for a top floor, 2-bedroom suite for 4. Great views over the CBD of Pyatigorsk, down to Mount Elbrus, 100km? away & 5600metres high. Adoption friendly, there are small 6-table cafes on two of the upper floors, plus... More
