Xi’an seemed like a very industrial town. The hotel was really not close to any tourist site. This hotel was very plain and a little dissappointing. Luckily I stayed here only 2 nights. The A/C let off a faint strange smell, almost like diesel exhaust. Restaurant was pretty good. This a a tricky one. If you can eat elsewhere then this is the best equippped hotel ever. A complete stationery set with highlighter pens, rubbers (that's erasers for the Americans!) etc, sewing kits, scissors, umbrellas in the rooms...... And clean and comfortable rooms. The grand reception and ornate statues behind reception reflect nothing of the rest of this hotel. The rooms were fine, nothing fancy at all. The hotel seems slightly dated, perhaps stuck in some kind of 80s theme.
