“Beautiful old charm”

Me and my husband stayed here for three nights , and we were sad to go . This place embodies the charm and hospitality of old Kyoto . It is not high end luxury , it's more than that. It's genuine. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Kyoto .

three people in one room staying over christmas for 4 nights. The ryokan is beautiful and immaculately laid out. The family who runs it were helpful and generous (pocket warmers for wintery kyoto!) and negotiated our bad japanese with great humour. we intially had a lot of difficuties in finding the ryokan as there is no indication in english outside the ryokan that in fact the house is a ryokan but when we finally got there, the owners were most welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. the room was lovely and comfortable. a very nice...
