Nice beach hotel. Nothing real fancy. Great view. All rooms face the ocean. Not too many lights on the beach (A biggie for me) Good price for off season. Obviously very quiet in February, so i can't speak for summer noise. Rooms are clean, updated, well kept (nothing fancy-regular beach hotel furnished). Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in each room. Bathrooms are small, with sink and make up area just outside bathroom. Lobby is nice with restaurant (did not eat there), work out room and lounge. Outdoor pool and hot tub looked nice (not inclined to use in February, but they looked like they were open). Looks like a nice tiki bar and grassy table area next to pool for summer use. Staff was friendly. I would return again.

All rooms face the beach! We came at the end of the season, so it was not as crowded as last time. Lots of personal attention from the staff, rooms were clean, bathroom in double room may be too small for some, but ok for us. Third floor balcony view is great, but only 2 small chairs. The staff alerted us about the need to run water until it gets hot (with few guests) and the need to close the glass door to prevent mold. Didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant. We hope you also enjoy your stay!😊

I felt so lucky to find this place when hurricane Idalia interrupted my vacation. It was reasonably priced for the area, the rooms are ocean front and very clean. Although there are not a lot of frills they have everything you need. I would definitely stay here again. A shout out to the helpful and considerate staff who made my vacation still extremely pleasurable and fun.

This hotel is a real mixed bag. On the plus sides, the location is perfect, the rooms are perfectly OK, the pool is fine, they have beach chairs, everything is just...good enough. On the other hand, there are dozens of little things that are mildly irritating (or more) which could make this an awful place for a certain kind of person. For instance: the restaurant is overpriced and the food really not very good; the staff is either ambivalent or hostile; there are far more children than adults in the hot tub, some of them snorkeling or cannonballing; the live music is really terrible (one band wasn't even that, just glorified karaoke) and continues to 10pm. And there are all kinds of odd quirks, like the receptionist guarding restaurant menus like they were sea turtle eggs, or telling me that the popcorn would be ready in five minutes as she stood in front of a full cart of popcorn, or the fact that the door directly into the restaurant is always blocked so you have to walk through an adjacent door which goes into another room before going into the restaurant. In all, it's an odd little place. If you can deal with all the weirdness and just want to hang out on the beach you're all set. Spend too much time actually at the hotel and you're bound to get irritated sooner or later.

Not were we usually stay but we decided to try something different. The grounds and beach were 5 star but it goes down hill from there. This hotel is severely understaffed!!! #1 they don't tell you the door is so hard to open you have to "body check" it each and every time you go in. #2 the room is very nice, frig is quite large for a hotel frig and that was nice, BUT #3 the bath isn't much more than a 2 ft room with a shower and toilet. You literately have a 2 ft square to dress in and because of the mirror location if you dress outside the bathroom by the sink everyone else in the doom can see you. VERY POOR PLANNING!! Also there is no nightlight in the bathroom so you are in total darkness if you need to go in the middle of the night. #4 the worse part of all was the wifi that would not work any where, any time. It was a dead hole for cell phones except for calls and Their own tv service would freeze about every 5 minutes so you could never watch anything without missing about half the program. #5 Did I say understaffed??? people had to sit in the lobby and wait for bath towels, one man ask for toilet paper and was told it would be a while before the desk person could "go up stairs" and get some. One lade had some issue and was told " our maintenance person has gone home for the night they will be back at 8 in the morning". So if your air conditioner doesn't work or your toilet is overflowing come back at 8am??? Doesn't most places have maintenance on call ??? The front desk people were very nice but Not sure if I would ever pick this place again.

Front desk staff very nice and professional. Note that there are important details on the sheet they have you sign such as resort fee charges and maid service which isn’t automatic. Our room was updated and comfortable. Exactly as shown on the website. Balcony had 2 chairs and a small table; perfect for watching the ocean. The pool was always crowded and it wasn’t cleaned every morning. A lot of sand at the bottom. The breakfast in Clamdiggers was good. Service was great. The hotel has a very relaxed feeling yet you can see the staff are always busy trying to make guests satisfied. The pool towels, beach chairs & umbrellas are great amenities included in the resort fee. The only negatives are the elevator wait is long and the bathroom is really small.

The owners really need to consider shutting this place down temporarily to remodel. The best part about this INN is the location. It is situated oceanfront and right in the middle of Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle where there are a lot of shops and restaurants. The problem with this INN is that is has painfully been ignored (dirty and outdated) and could easily become one of the best places to stay in the entire area if someone actually cared about it. The service is pretty bad overall. The only staff helpful during our stay were Felicia who went above and beyond to salvage a disasterous stay when the air conditioning in our room went out and when our room wasn't available by the 4pm check in and the Tiki bartender who works her absolute tail off. The bartender should NEVER have to leave a fully occupied bar she is running herself to fetch food from the kitchen. Someone from the kitchen should be bringing food orders out to her so she can continue to do the excellent work she does in making drinks. And there were plenty of other unmotivated staff members sitting around doing nothing. This is so inefficient. The umbrella service is ludicrous. Instead of making a guy run laps from the backroom of the hotel to the beach with the umbrella upon request it would make more sense to invest in a way to lock the umbrellas and chairs down near the beach and the assign someone each day to set them out for guests. Makes it easier on the employee, faster for the guests, and allows the employee to make more tips. Invest some money and time into this place!!

Needs updating still. New chairs outside, but inside is where the money shud be spent. New curtains is a must. Drapes have not been washed in a long time, almost appears to be mold. Staff says doors are left open and creates mold in rooms. I went for walks daily and didnt see doors open. Maybe they need to invest in dehumidifier being so close to the water? Water pressure is turned down so low, wasn't used to taking shower with no pressure to rinse off soap. Beds/pillows uncomfortable. I needed all 3 to make 1. I could go on, but not worth the time. Mgmt needs to regroup fast...

This was our second stay at this hotel. The good: -The renovated lobby and pool area look very nice and modern -New chairs/table on balconies were a plus -Beds are comfortable -Nice oceanfront location -Front desk staff was accommodating when we had a minor issue with the room. -The in-room refrigerator actually kept our drinks very cold (a lot of hotel refrigerators are ineffective). -No issues with hot water (but the pressure was low) The bad: -Resort fees: 3 days before our arrival we received a phone call saying that they had forgotten to charge us for the resort fee when we booked online and would be charging us when we arrived. This rubbed me the wrong way, since it was their error. I did not recall seeing a resort fee mentioned on the website when we booked (maybe I overlooked it) but there was definitely not a resort fee for our stay last year (I checked our receipt). The resort fee covers beach chairs (the chairs were nice) and beach toys (I saw a very small stack of cheap plastic beach toys by the chairs), beach/pool towels (we couldn't locate them and were later told that they needed to be checked out at the front desk-this should have been communicated at check-in), water (no cups were available when I saw the water out), coffee, and popcorn in the lobby (popcorn was emptied out quickly and not replenished), wifi, parking, and what I was told was a "complimentary" 15% discount at the restaurant (it's not complimentary if I have to pay a $19.99 resort fee to get the discount). -There are beach umbrellas available, but they are not included in the resort fee and cost $20 a day to rent. -If you want your room cleaned, you have to tell the front desk before 11am each day. If you want clean towels, you have to bring your dirty towels to the front desk to get fresh towels. You had better hope that there is more than one person working the front desk or else you'll be waiting a while. This was a big inconvenience. -There appears to be a new pool bar (we thought this would be fun) but it was not open the days we were there. Maybe it's only on weekends? -Guests were smoking cigars and marijuana on the balconies. While this cannot be easily controlled by the hotel staff, it was still a negative for us because we could not enjoy the balcony as often as we would have liked. -The microwave (just like at our last stay) was dirty and had crusty food inside. My suggestion to this hotel, which I understand is under new ownership/management: 1-Communicate more clearly with your guests about the amenities available at the hotel upon check-in OR include an information sheet in the rooms. Ex: How do you request beach towels? What is the protocol for getting clean bath towels? What are the pool hours? At what time are the beach chairs available? What are the hours/menu for the on-site restaurant and bar? 2-The resort fee has got to go or it needs to include some real "extras". It comes across as a money grab. 3-Come up with a better system for beach and bath towels. I can understand that hotels probably have many of these towels "walk away" with guests, but having to wait in a long line at the front desk to get clean towels wastes valuable time. 4-Someone really needs to keep eyes on the water/coffee/popcorn in the lobby and make sure that it's available to guests and that there are plenty of cups, especially if this is something that is being advertised as part of the resort fee. 5-Hire more staff!

They charged us $281 when we left and are saying we left the room trashed when we did not. I may not have noticed the charge, but I get immediate notifications through text and we paid up front through Expedia. This is probably something they do regularly and get away with as people are so busy they might not see the extra charge. The coffee was nasty. The restaurant service was horrible. The shower would sometimes not have hot water. The balcony and access to the ocean were delightful. The room was cute and our beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would tell you not to book there given this $282 scam charge that I’m fighting.
