- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
-
Value Place Amarillo is conveniently located off of exit 73, just minutes away from the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum and various other attractions. This area offers something for everyone – shopping, dining, recreation and more. Amarillo is known as “The Yellow Rose of Texas” – "amarillo" is the Spanish word for yellow. Amarillo got its start as a cattle town, so cattle and ranching are still a large part of the local economy. If you love the outdoors Amarillo has all kinds of options for you. The Palo Duro Canyon State Park is the second largest canyon in the US only behind the Grand Canyon. It is located just south of Amarillo. The Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument is also near the city and is special because prehistoric inhabitants used it as a place to gather flint to make tools. And of course while in town you must visit the famous Cadillac Ranch just west of the city. Once you arrive at our location, our friendly Value Place Amarillo team will be happy to help you navigate around town.
