They are renovating part of the hotel, which is being stripped at the moment. The noise starts a litle after 7 AM and continues untill 6 pm. Many good things to say about the hotel. Foremost is the rooftop swimming poll.you can swim, look at Crist the Redeemer and watch street dances below. The beds are comfy and the place is clean. Great value!

Room selection is everything. Ask for a renovated room. My colleagues got refurbished rooms, but I got one that was bland and a bit noisy. The breakfast was great. Stayed here because the conference was here so didn't do the usual research. Can't say how it compared price wise to those on Copacabana but it would have to be great value to entice me back. Although I was there only for one night, I could enjoy staff friendliness, good restaurant both buffet and à la carte as well, a clean room. Very close to Santos Dumont Airport, and to the Sugarloaf. For business and tourism as well.
