Another Explore tour hotel and by this stage I wasn't expecting too much, but the U-Thong was a pleasant surprise. I stayed in several distinctly average Thai hotels on the Explore Worldwide Holiday "Old Siam and the River Kwai". This was one of the ones where I was glad I had my own sheets with me, just in case! The only redeeming feature was a fairly nice little restaurant down the road and a nearby 7/11.

Ugh, a middle-class hotel which is really not good at all. Arriving late at night, and trying to order room service, we were told the Chef had gone home (the night-duty Chef, that is). This hotel is misleading, its hotel pictures look new... However upon arriving the hotel was generally rundown and needed a big refurbishment. The U-Thong Inn is a somewhat dated, middle class hotel. It could be rated as a 2-3 star hotel. For the price, it is good value. However, for a trip to Auythaya I would rater recommend the Krungsri River Hotel which costs only slightly more but is much nicer.
