We absolutely loved every second of the tour. From the moment we got on the boat to when we got back to the pier the next morning, everything went off without a hitch. The crew, especially Mo, were brilliant at getting everyone together, the games were great fun, the food amazing. Swimming with the plankton was absolutely incredible and there... More

We had a great time on this tour, Phil and his wife are lovely and were so kind as we had to wait a day for our tour due to bad weather. The trip the following day was worth the wait. The guide was a happy go lucky kinda guy, who is so genuine and really creates a great vibe... More

I definitely recommend the Maya Bay sleep abroad tour! We had a lovely time in Maya Bay. The guides were amazing, the food was really good, the place unforgettable. Swimming with the plankton is something that we will never forget. It's by far the best way to see Maya Bay as during the day is really busy and not pleasant.... More

This was a highlight of the trip. I really think it depends on your expectations and the people on the trip with you. The staff were great and my friend and I happen to be on a trip with people who cool! There was drinking and games, which I think alot of people reviewing are into, but even without that... More

Well what can I say... Just INCREDIBLE!!! I have just got back to the UK from my trip to Thailand and I can safely say that the Maya Bay sleep aboard was the highlight of my trip. The trip itself was incredibly well organised and anything you could want for was provided. Maya Bay itself in the day with all... More

My daughter and I bought this activity as part of a deal from the internet whilst still at home in Sydney. Talk about lucky! It proved a highlight of a wonderful week in Thailand. We boarded the boat with a couple of dozen people, but only five of us slept on board; the others had a dinner cruise and then... More

If you want to experience "The beach" as it is, quite, peaceful, beautiful, untouched and EMPTY, don't hesitate going with these guys. Being able to see all tourist boats disappear as the day goes by and watching the sun come down and stars start popping out in the sky is just breath taking. I actually had a pretty delicious dinner.... More

I think i had the best day of my life on this overnight stay - not kidding! I did not enjoy it because of the movie and all that but because of the extreeme intense feeling of being one with nature. The beach, the stars and the fantastic plankton where overwhelming. I think i slept for 15 min max that... More

PROS: *it's the best way to experience 'The Beach' *plankton swimming was an extremely beautiful experience :) CONS: *sleeping conditions are quite basic; it rained and the Ferry does not have enough roofed-space for all of its passengers >:( *bring your backpack/stuff for the night barbeque; we all left our backpacks in the Ferry and after swimming we were all... This trip is amazing and hands down my favorite part of our time in Phi Phi (or even our two week trip to Thailand/Vietnam). You get to watch the sunset from the empty beach (which is typically packed with tourists) and eat dinner on the island with NO ONE ELSE on the island with you (other than the other travelers,... Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Enjoy the experience of a lifetime: see where the movie ‘The Beach’ was filmed, and then sleep out under the stars on your own private boat.If you visit Maya Bay during the day, you will be up against a horde of day-trippers hell bent on the cliché, but if you join our live aboard tour, you will have an unforgettable experience that you will recall with a smile for the rest of your life. Our trip has limited numbers with a maximum of 30 people per night. Our boat has capacity for 80 people. We leave Phi Phi Don from the ferry pier at 4 pm and return the next day at 10:00 am.On the way to Phi Phi Ley, we stop to see the Viking Caves, followed by a snorkeling session, and some fresh fruit for afternoon tea.We arrive at Maya Bay before sunset. If you are a strong swimmer and feeling ambitious, you can jump into the water and swim to shore, or if you prefer, you can ride to shore on a long tail boat or in a kayak. Now it’s time to sit back, relax, and watch as the beach becomes clear of day trippers. Soon the beach becomes just ours to enjoy! Our own cook comes with us and prepares for a Thai feast, which includes vegetarian dishes. We have an area set aside with lanterns, IPOD speakers, and a bar which offers drinks for sale at reasonable prices.Take the time to connect with your fellow travellers from all over the world. Everyone gets 1 free bucket (local drinking habit consisting of Thai rum and coke), which along with some music usually gets the party started.Around 10 pm a delicious chicken BBQ is served. After supper, many people choose to take a moonlight swim in the tranquil waters. If the conditions are good, you will experience the amazing bio-luminescent plankton. When you are ready to sleep we head back to our boat. It will be moored 50 meters off the beach in Maya bay in high season and in Losama Bay 30 meters from the rear entrance to Maya Bay in low season.Sleeping bags, pillows, and mattresses are provided. Most people prefer to sleep on the top deck under the starlit skies as this adds to the whole experience. With no light pollution in the sky, shooting stars are plentiful. If it does rain, we have a covered deck area as well. No mosquitoes or creepy crawlies. In the morning jump into the water, swim or kayak to shore. We serve a breakfast on the beach with coffee, tea, eggs, toast, and fruit. After breakfast, we all pitch in to help clean the beach and make sure it is cleaner than when we arrived. The group arrives back on Phi Phi around 10 am, usually very tired, but very, very happy. ... more   less
