I stayed here twice on a recent visit to Vung Tau, Vietnam. The host Bruce Mason is a real gentleman, who really makes you feel welcome. My room was large & very clean & the food was good. Unlike so many hotels where the guests just stay in their rooms or go out, at Macca's Place we also sat around... More

This review has been a long time coming (from several stays during 2011), but better late than never I guess! Please disregard the 'March 2012' as the travel date (I couldn't choose an earlier date..). During over a year of travelling all throughout SEA, have stayed at many budget guesthouses. Macca's place was one of the most memorable ones, friendly... More

Great choice we made after reading other reviews - yes there are classier places but Maccas provided all we required and with a good dollup of character. Expats Bruce and Warren made our stay most enjoyable and were great hosts and had some interesting tales to share. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maccas to anyone and especially if the finances... Nice place to stay. Very relaxed atmosphere away from the main area so sleeping late is not an issue. The staff were friendly and spoke English well. Rooms clean, comfortable and amazingly good value. The hotel is close to the lighthouse and Jesus statue. Thanks very much to Bruce and Warren - you were both so hospitable and provided us... More

We stayed one night there. The guesthouse is nice, rooms are clean and the staff speaks English. The guesthouse is located in a very quiet area and not so far away from the beach. We actually hate Vung Tau but this hotel was the positive point of our week end

Stayed there for 3 nights. Pros: Hot shower, big spacious rooms, big villa feel, super friendly expat staff, quick call for taxi, minifridge, air con, fan, cable TV all included in price. Cons: Location is a bit too far to walk back and forth to back or front beach so you often need to find a cab to get back,... More

On many occasions I stayed in Vung Tau, in both Guest houses and Hotels. Maccas Place was fantastic. It is not in the mainstream of the "action areas" where you are constantly hounded to purchase items or services, yet it is only a 5 minute taxi ride from the centre of town (about $2 USD metered). The service is great... More

My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights on the advice of a mate and his wife. The hotel is situated in a suburban part of town well away from the traffic and horn noise associated with Vietnam. It is a peaceful location where you enjoy an undisturbed sleep. The rooms are spotlessly clean, cable TV, split system a/c,... More

After 2 nights in a local 4 star hotel, no hot water or phone... Macca's was a breath of fresh air. Great Vietnamese staff (who speak English well) & two of the best Aussie blokes as owners/hosts, we felt at home from the minute we arrived! Spotlessly clean, excellent foot worth the wait, tv in room, bar fridge, 2 dbl... More
