We stayed here 3 nights in august 2010. We chose this resort because they also offer trips to the Kinabatangan river, which makes it easy to combine. The resort has a very large and amazing garden, with all kinds of animals in it, including Hornbills. The swimming pool is nice to cool of after a long day. It is located... More

This resort is very close to the Orangutan Sanctuary but very pricey for the level of accommodation and everything is charged on top, apart from breakfast(including the use of the pool). The staff are friendly although English is not great. Food was outstanding. The gym is a joke and the entire facility is completely run down and not looked after... More

Everything about the place is dirty and smells: rooms, rstaurant area, swimming pool... The room was crawling with coakroches, also founds loads of mice poos in the bedroom... Staff is not nice at all and spends all their time chatting and drinking tea in the restaurant area rather than work and make the place nicer. Staff also gave us incorrect... More

Had a great stay here and was within walking distance to the Orang-utan sanctuary and they organised the most amazing tour of the jungle with a great wildlife spotting. More

We came to Sepilok with high-ish expectations which never became fulfilled. We also planned on staying two nights, but we left around noon the next day. While the lodge appears really exciting upon entry, you quickly realise that it's beauty from afar but more like beast up close. The manager was drinking vodka out of a bottle upon arrival around... It was what we expected, basic & clean. It does need a lot of TLC, very run down. The boardwalks need chicken wire to improve safety, with the amount of rain they have there the planks get extremely slippery. The staff in the restaurant just hang about, slouching in chairs - not a good advert. More

This lodge was built 30 years ago with just 6 rooms; it has since added on and has 25-30 rooms; we were in a "deluxe" room which had plentiful air conditioning, outdated TV but it worked and bathroom, with unenclosed shower - quite sufficient. They also have a dormitory which we did not see and a camp ground. John and... More

So basically—when we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by an inexperienced staff and muddy, dirty accommodations. I’m able to overlook some things, but the real trouble began when we had completed our day tours to various sites and returned back to our hotel room after a lackluster, overpriced dinner and beer. Upon exhaustion, we had decided to take... More

We are truly located in the jungle and the jungle is fill with many wildlife including lizards. These are house lizards and we need them in our eco system to help to reduce the mosquitoes. And there is no way we can wipe them out entirely from the room no matter what we do. They are genius in getting into... More

Great location. This resort has no bells and whistles and does not claim to have. The accommodation prices were good and the food was reasonable. Not sure what other reviewers were expecting but the staff were friendly and yes the service was not of the standard of a 5 star intercontinental hotel but neither is the price. The website does... This is by far the worst service, accommodation, food and 'tour' you can imagine. We were charged US$1300 for two people (charged up front without a refund option possible) for a four night 'adventure'. When we arrived, we were not given any explanation at the front desk regarding our janky 'tour.' When asked about it, the explanation we were given... More

When someone book a tour, it is the resposibility of the person to know their programme and plan. The receptionist would not know what the guest have booked and has no obligation to do any briefing. However, the receptionist will help to find out more information and will call to the relevant travel agent to help rectify any problem if... More
